From my experience a growing vtuber has a subscriber income of about 2,000/day.
NijiEn earlier this year was holding at about 300 subs/day. Even with this type of subscriber income, they were losing viewers.

Someone from holo can do an outfit reveal, and then a significant portion of their dead subs become activated and drive the viewer count into the stratosphere. Having a huge subscriber bank makes your viewership less consistent, more erratic and content-dependent. What's more important though is subs/day. That has a correlation to your future viewership.
