I am Filipino and after working with many Filipino, Viet, Indo folk they really do have a stick up their ass and will do anything to look good for management, especially people from overseas and not borin in the US. They have no individualism and will do anything for a raise even at the cost of their own reputation. It's very short sighted thinking when you don't even know if your manager intends to remote you, it's best to build your profile and find another company willing to pay more. Just my tangent from working with a lot of off the boat immigrants.

When I called out that Filipino behavior it is because my mum suffers a bit from the existence of those cliques, you are either with them or out, and it's worst if there is a manager who feeds off that shitty behavior. She is fine because she already became permanent before their constant nagging episodes/ scapegoating hit her so no power imbalance bullshit.
