I'd also consider just not using lineart for the medial and lateral borders of the sclera and see how you like it. You could also consider an oval iris: if you are making a hugely exaggerated anime eye it is much taller than it would be in reality, so an oval iris will keep the proportions consistent. In this case you have a lot of sclera over the iris, which usually implies surprise or shock. Is that what you were gong for?
