Thought I could continue to enjoy her streams on a monthly basis, but seeing the others celebrate with their fans while she continues to be MIA really drives home the point that she doesn't care. It's difficult to feel connected to someone who doesn't love connecting with you anymore.

She did mention she wanted to play Lethal Company with Ame if they got perms, but then later after they got them, she didn't come back.

Of course you can watch others because Gura isn't around and even when Gura is around, but to say another streamer can 1:1 replace Gura if she's someone's favorite is complete bs.

Beyond the obvious which is their avatar, this is highly personality driven. It's easy to hear when voices are faked, and to see when quirks are fake and when they're the real person. The dogs act like their dumb, but they're among the most disciplined and corporate streamers I've ever witnessed. It must be a dream for Cover, and it will sadly spell the end of hiring young women. They'll now only hire old women which have no more 'life events' or 'youth urges' to get in the way of streaming.

The dogs suffer from this too, but Bijou has the most strained fake voice I've ever heard. I can't stand it. That's even after browsing some of the Twitch VTubers. I've not been able to watch Bijou for long to sample whether I like her as a person because the voice sounds terrible to me.

I remember many members, even Gura, made changes to their voice initially. Bae too. Both Gura and Bae have dropped that bs, which make me think is the company that imposes it on them.

I know you're being facetious, but there's never Christmas merch, anon. Most of the others are doing members streams where they just spend time with their fans. Some of them did a small concert and did a live watch along of it. Others did ASMR or karaoke streams.
Some of them put in a ton of effort and did something spectacular like the dogs did where they made some kind of visual novel with multiple endings where their fans either end up with them or their Bloop equivalent mascot depending on if they get the good or bad end.
Even Ame came back just to sing karaoke and stream for her fans after saying she'd be away on hiatus. Gura is the only member in all of Hololive to completely ignore her fans on Christmas.
