We have literally seen Tempus get into fights over redesigns in their first year because 2 of them didn't like their models. Do you think Ina wanted a skimpy priestess outfit? That Kronii asked for a coomerbait model with a boob window? Do you think HoloEN talents keep having a radio silent "health" break or solo stream hiatus by random chance? Vesper got into a huge fight with management the previous winter and several months later Cover gave him a 2.0 model so this does seem to be the time when they usually renew contracts. My guess is that Gura has been trying to help settle major contract issues so that HoloEN won't have any more graduations.

On paper, Gura is worth a lot but much of that was because of Hololive. Her character model, connections to Japan and guardrails on her behavior were all supplied by Hololive and made her a smash hit during the Covid era.

Indie Gura without those is over valued. She would get a big boost during her debut just because of the drama that would occur from an ex-Holo going indie but beyond that she would basically be Kson but more succesful.

She would still be big, but she would trade her Japanese audience for a western Twitch one. Who knows if chumbuds would even like Gura without the Hololive filter keeping her away from drama and other sheningans.
