Broke up with girlfriend. Good friends move away. Fall in with some shitty friends. Make some bad decisions. End up dropping out of college. Give up on life. Find random bunny girl anime clip thing. Find it entertaining and comforting. Cascade of clips and streams commence. Fastforward one year. Now hides from people and watches cute dog go wowowow all day. My life.

Kizuna Ai got me curious. Mirai Akari spoke to me in VRChat. Then I started seeing clips of Korone and Miko. Then Coco got me to stay. Because of the language gap, really. Then I did a deep dive. I watch the three big companies, indies on twitch, introduce people who might be interested in it to it. Slowly been discovering how to understand the other members of Hololive now too.

first exposure was the usual stuff like Miko nigga and Fubuki scatman but I didn't really care much about VTubers at the time, this clip is what sparked my interest.

I used to watch Kizuna AI in 2017 and then when in lockdown I got recommended a Miko video in like February of 2020 and that was that. Fuckin love migo to this day m8, when she stops I'll go too.

>> No.6459281

Started with Kizuna Ai. Her early google map clips were so comfy. Watched a lot of kaguya luna too and some Siro streams. I forgot about them in 2018 till I watched some hololive videos in early 2020 (Korone makes a "prr" sound, 40 years old senchou dancing, pekomiko teetee theater, etc)

I had a friend who was really into Japanese Vtubers. When we'd do group anime watches in our Cytube channel he'd add a bunch of clips to the queue. It always seemed like the kind of thing you'd have to be into to really enjoy so I didn't think much of it, but it was kind of funny. Reminded me of "improv" comedy anime like gdgd fairies.

EN was announced and I decided to go watch all the debuts. Based on the designs I was all prepped to be an Amelia Watson fan or maybe Calliope Mori. I watched the debuts and one of the ENs had a special quality that I consider my achilles heel: a German accent. Been deep in vtuber hell ever since, but still faithful to my day 1 oshi.

I was aware of Kizuna AI back in 2017, but didn't really get into her content. I forgot vtubers were a thing until March 2020, when I got recommended a bunch of Korone clips. I watched a variety of hololive members for about a month until I found Suisei. Watching NCP live amazed me, so I went back, listened to her previous songs, watched all of her vods, and I've been a hoshiyomi ever since.

Sounds like the algorithm got a lot of us in march 2020. For me it was the clip of migo burning her shit down with lava in mc.

So sad that I couldn't be @Mogra since the pandemic. I hope they still going to play Hololive there when I can be there again. But regardless, Mogra is always a fun time.

Watched Ame because I was bored and thought she was really cute and funny.
Tried watching others and didn't really care. So I only watch Ame.

>> No.6460426

I knew about them for a while but I never gave a fuck until twitch started fucking with adblock constantly making the website unwatchable. Around the same time a friend sent me a Haachama clip and I figured I may was well put one of her streams on in the background

>I wonder what the vtuber scene looks like today, it's been years since Kizuna Ai was the new cool thing and I haven't heard much about them since then
>wow, that's a lot of drama around Ai, but this Kaguya Luna is pretty fun, and there's a lot of big names out there too making some funny content
>nijisanji? holy shit, this thing's huge
>AAAH Ars is so cute!!!!
>hololive?
>hey it's just like my slice of life anime, but better
>alright, let's see what the /jp/ community is like...
And that was the first time I regretted getting into vtubers.

I knew of KizunaAI way back when, but never watched her. Then I got in on the 2ManySnacks Korone Eekum Bokum train real early, people were uploading their own take on it by the minute. I loved Korone, still do. Decided to watch Gura's ringfit stream as my first stream and I'm ngl it turned me off for a bit, but I found my way back cause of animators and clippers. I love my Holo girls, especially Ame, but I spend the majority of my time and money on fun indies and NijiEN

>Youtube recommends Fubuki's Scatman clip. Became a Holofag.
>Started watching Holostars because of the vtuber APEX tournament. Get introduced to VOMS, Animare and a bunch of indies through them.
>Decided to give Nijisanji a chance because their 3D videos were entertaining.
>Magnet gets fired. Lose interest in VOMS.
>Hololive starts to feel stale after a while. Gradually stopped watching most of them.
Fastforward to this day and I'm more into vtubers than I've ever been.

2018-ish YT recommended me a clip of a very angry frog making funny Kizuna AI sounds. Checked out Kizuna AI stuff and thought this virtual youtuber idea was kinda wierd but interesting. Watched a couple of her eng subbed videos and I got hooked. I would find myself checking if one of her latest videos got eng subbed and would watch before I sleep. I'd binge watch one of her lets play series on the weekends too. Her collab vids would eventually introduce me to Dennou Shojo Siro and Kaguya Luna. I didn't like the latter though, as I found her voice a bit annoying. 2019, I stopped following the scene or watching YT in general because of reasons. 2020, covid gave me a lot of free time to sit in front of my screen again. YT suddenly recommended me a funny clip of siro playing minecraft. I somehow forgot about this vtuber stuff and this helped me remember. Checked her channel and Ai's as well to see what they've been up to this past year. Suddenly YT recommends me funny clip of Roa getting blown up by a creeper (to be continued meme). Then another recommendation of a clip of Pekora throwing her netherite pickaxe into the lava. Both these clips would then pull me down the hole into the world of niji and holos. And the rest is history. Thanks for reading my blog.

That subtle detail also caught me by surprise. Since her first debut I watched every one of her streams up until current day. From that point on I already knew who would be my oshi.

Learn about AI from /v/ a couple months before FAKYUU took off
First exposure to Holos was through the AL collab
Fast forward to coof quarantine and I start hearing about Holos through osmosis because they kept blowing up but had no idea they were a part of the same company since they weren't a part of the AL collab (Koro, Haato, Miko) or even a part of the company at the time of the collab (Marine, Coco)
Only started watching them myself because someone I knew turned Gosling for Amelia for like a month and I wanted to see what the fuss was about

I have been exposed to chinese virtual women since Kizuna was a new thing, but a few months ago youtube recommended me a pekora clip, I watched it, and now I'm here, spending most of my free time watching nothing but hololive and nijisanji clips.
I fear that in a few weeks I might develop enough tolerance to watch a stream.

>> No.6480218

Watched Gura's first stream because everyone was talking about Hololive, I didn't think it was that cool, but I watched a newer stream and I enjoyed it a lot. I really fell into the rabbithole when I discovered some Korono english clips.

Eventually started watching some Watson streams and then all the others.
