An industry needs a good foundation to thrive.
JP had the 4 heavenly kings, Nijijp then Holojp who surpassed them all and perfected the medium in japan.
EN had Myth, because of hololive all girls approach it build a foundation for female vtubers to thrive on, relatively speaking atleast.
Male EN vtubing got Luxium they sold their dignity to chink fujos, worse of all they all became menhers and literal faggots, aka unfit to lead the industry.

The centerpiece of what a vtuber is, is their avatar. And a male audience doesn't get anything from looking at a 'handsome' male avatar.

Maybe it's about the performances, then? But think about even famous male singers. Do male audiences have their eyes glued to the screen when Rod Stewart, Bruno Mars or Sting prance around, drinking in every detail? No. You need to have some crazy levels of charisma and skill for people to actually be obsessed with you to that point, on a Michael Jackson dancing or Slash guitarist level - and the medium to convey that demonstration of skill. Which isn't present today, and if you were that good then you'll be doing it on a real camera anyway.

Most came from management issue. Very greedy and incompetent managers for those homos, which also affected the girls.
For niji, their big events cancelled several times, their merchs are low quality, streams aren't monitored, too many restriction, low salary and their livers lose motivation
For holo, they just can't find someone actually talented and disciplined. Their growing plan rely on leeching from women, their goal wasn't clear and clashed with women's goal. Their desire to create brotuber is unrealistic from the start.
