It has been almost 4 uninterrupted years of every single member of EN saying how much they hate the company and it just gets worse with every passing year. This is an industry of streamers. They play games, do collabs and sing. Hololive bans 90% of games/songs and 99% of collabs. They are only allowed an extra 1% of game perms if they beg for specific perms weeks+ in advance. Meanwhile, Henya can do whatever the fuck she wants in Vshojo. She made the right choice.

Pikamee->Holo would have been cool but I'm not sure it would really have a lot of upsides for her. In VShojo she gets to avoid perms autism, unicorns, collab restrictions, overlap restrictions, and generally being micromanaged. Essentially she gets to avoid the entire corporate atmosphere which suits her personality, she just wants to stream 8 hours a day without having to worry about what her boss wants. Plus she's already good friends with kson, not to mention a bunch of indies, rather than having to make friends with Advent.
I'm also not convinced it would a massive boost to her career, she's doing just fine pulling 8k consistently with a better revenue split. She might make somewhat more through Holo but not enough to make up for the downsides. It would absolutely be worth it to get into Myth, but any gen after that is kind of meh if you can make it on your own like Henya's doing.

Holo fandom is a box, the brand counts for a lot. Holomems would only decline if they left Hololive even with their IP intact. Most of them have no outstanding talent outside company brand power either, and as indies would struggle to arrange engaging content and keep consistent schedules. Not to mention industry connections, sponsorships, venues, merch etc. flying right out the window.

The cold hard truth is that the holos are chosen for being just the right kind of mediocre. When the talent know they have no prospects on their own (having had none pre-Holo), it allows the company maintain solid control over their assets while still easily meeting their fanbase's generally low standards for entertainment. IP rights wouldn't change the equation much. Someone like Suisei might go crash and burn solo, but the rest should be cozy enough where they are.

Anyone with any real talent and drive wouldn't want to stick around an operation like this for long. From the rigid 2D avatars to the messy permissions, the (JP corpo) vtuber industry is just far too unambitious, limiting and slow-moving for most aspiring entertainers.
