Hello,
best quality anon here (not an actual nickname, but I never got one).
Just wanted to give a bit of an update since I know some people like my outputs.
I got the big coof, first time I get sick in 15+ years. I think I'm on the path to recovery (I definitely feel a lot less terrible than I did during the worst day of it) but I've just not been in the mood to prompt.
I've also been swamped with work. I feel like the more I do and the more efficient I become the more shit gets dumped on me.
I wish I got paid half of what my job is paid in other countries, but where I live everyone is paid the exact same, doesn't matter if you're a retard with 3 years of school or a veteran with a specialised degree and over a decade of experience. Only thing that changes are the working conditions and mine are pretty good when I'm not up to my neck in work.
And that's all really. I'm not dead, I'm not dying and since my fever never got too terrible I hope I won't have any permanent effects.

Managed to make my 7900xtx work in comfy (still no a1111).
It's surprising how much of a difference it makes being able to control loras on model vs encoder and different strengths for the upscale.
I even forgot to change the VAE but it looks cute this way too. Could enhance it in post anyway.

It's kind of hard to explain. Basically I just mash up as many tags and loras as I can to the point where it starts to fall apart, then scale back the strength of everything in the upscaling step so that it doesn't end up looking like mud.

Haven't used it on windows so no idea how it is with DirectML. For linux right now it's supported only on ubuntu 22.04 with 6.2 kernel. It used to work back in July on manjaro as well but a mesa update screwed it up for me and screwing with amdgpu on manjaro is too much of a pain to even try. If I try to load anything related to ML on it on manjaro now, it simply shuts down.
I would go nvidia if it weren't 2 times the price.

YMMV. NAI can look very good but base NAI will look terrible unless you tag it right. On the other hand, the chuba tagging on NAI blows anything else on the water with how on-model it is. It also depends on your setup. If it's taking 10+ minutes for one gen you'll probably get more mileage out of novelAI's speed. If you have something gfast then you could stick with local and your faovrite models/loras because NovelAI will still need some work to look as good as SD even with the best prompting.

TL;DR: It all depends on what you already have available.

For local, a lot of vtuber loras are good. The hlls ie., hll5b, hll5c, and hll6 are all much better than 3.1 so those are workable. Mixing models are are super available and accessible.

Yeah a 3060 should be good to generate some good shit in a timely fashion. Just download stable diffusion and follow the guide of your choice. Then grab the vtuber loras you want and/or the hll of your choice. We have a rentry for vtuber loras now and the you can find hllanon's huggingface in the model cookbook.

The model cookbook isn't really updated anymore though so for your actual model pick your model from civitai and mix it with whatever you want.

Full exposure: I've used NAI since it's inception as a smut generator, long before imagegen. So I am somewhat biased. Hopefully this doesn't come across as too shilly.

I really like NAI3, like a hell of a lot. The ability to just get things on-model amazes me.
Simply look at this Fubuki, and see how many of the details it gets right, (1st catbox imagegen, 2nd details sheet)

NAI3 isn't short of it's downsides, though. There's no controlnet for a start, so some of the high fidelity adjustments aren't possible. It has inpaint at least.
Potentially the biggest downside is that it has no LoRA support — whatever is in the model today is what it can generate forever more until the Turk creates a new model. I'm yet to come across a concept it couldn't do. (I've not exactly pushed it too hard, though.)

Pricing is, eh. I'm an Opus sub (top tier), so I have unlimited normal resolution gens (832x1216 portrait/ 1216x832 landscape), but I like the wallpaper size gens (1920x1088 and flipped) which come in at 48 anlas each. On just the subscription anlas that's about 200 generations at that size monthly, with each further gen costing about 5 cents each.

OFT is pretty good. It was added to a1111 few days ago.
Dim 2 lora (on top) is only 1.5 MB, but it works with different models and you can change outfits with no issues.
