For newfriends and fa/tg/uy crossovers: this is a Hunter: the Vigil campaign hosted by the fabulous ladies of the Hololive English branch, a World of Darkness homebrew mixing elements of older and newer iterations. Most of the tutorials feature them working out the mechanics of the campaign, with the hard-set rules coming in their first full session together.

THE CAST:
>Mori Calliope
The pink-haired, adorably awkward boomer reaper. The GM of the session. Has the most experience of the group in the realm of tabletop; most consider her a journeyman TT'er.
>Takanashi Kiara
An explosively extroverted phoenix, as well as the owner of the ever expanding restaurant franchise, Kiara Fried Phoenix. The only other member with any TT experience whatsoever; played a little D&D when she was much younger. Current character is an impoverished gunslinging noblewoman from a foreign land who can communicate with birbs, particularly her pet owl, Uhu.
>Ninomae Ina'nis
Sweet-natured and soft spoken priestess of the Deep Ones. Newbie to the TT experience. Current character is a sleep-deprived, strung-out college student with a talent for both crafting and killing things with a car.
>Amelia Watson
An animal loving, time travelling detective, known for her rough-and-tumble approach to life. Another newbie to the TT experience. Current character is a malodorous, laconic drug dealer and herbalist from an impoverished slum who gets his way with intimidation and his fists.
>Gawr Gura
An easy-going and amiable elder shark, formerly a resident of the lost nation of Atlantis. Yet another newbie to the TT experience (allegedly). After a lengthy character creation process consisting of many discarded concepts, she has settled on the party's final character: a tough-as-nails, illiterate country girl who lives on an isolated ranch and follows the family trade as a metalworker, forging both tools and blades of the finest quality. Alongside her crafting talents, she is both a hardy survivor and melee expert who likes to get in the thick of things during combat.

I'm not familiar with TTRPGs or how they play out. Say Scout gets killed off, what are the chances Gura could do something like shoehorn her mystery courier lady into the game so she can keep playing?

It all comes down to the player's IRL resolve. Since they are all new, everyone has really invested in their characters in terms of effort. Would Ina be able to simply accept Yuul's death and craft up an entirely new PC? She spent three hours drawing and creating her with her chat; not only that, 3/4 of the roster are blatant self-inserts, so having them killed off would be very demoralizing. Then again, Calli seems like a competent GM who isn't going to intentionally sabotage the party, but she's not handing out plot armor either. It all comes down to player competence in the end; they can coordinate and survive, or flounder about incompetently and get redshirted.

For a first time campaign with complete newbs that’s being streamed to an audience of literally tens of thousands I’m fine with Mori cheating a little especially since she’s obviously running a highly home brew scenario. Vic has access to some sort of healing abilities. Maybe it’s an elixir, or an item, or hell he gave Yuul enough blood to let her survive but not start turning her. There’s enough redshirts to catch bullets (brohood) and stronger friendly npcs to stage a heroic intervention (Vic, sheriff, Jchad) that she could keep it within the realm of reason if one of them is about to die. Scout recruited an actual doctor as well so they can get patched up. For the first season losing a key item, pet, or npc, or forcing them to sit out a session to recover (or because of a schedule conflict) seems like a good alternative. Let them die in season 2 onward.

I've always been of the DMing philosophy the plot armor only comes off at the last session or in PVP. Rerolling should be limited to gimmick campaigns written around rerolling often. The point is to tell an immersive choose your own adventure not a dice based roguelike you must optimally metagame around.

Is there a summary of what happened in the tutorial streams of each girl? Cause I tried to watch the first one with Kiara and had to tune out after 40mins because of cringe and facepalming at Moris inept DMing.

Or can someone tell me that later streams atleast improved in quality after the first one?

Yuul is a pretty obvious insert of college-days Ina, just with some alterations to the academic pursuits. Look at what happened when Calli threw her into a rambunctious frat party; both Ina and her PC were pushed way out of their comfort zones. The immediate, unprovoked investigation of the beer can tells you everything you need to know where Ina stands regarding such events.

One of the session's primary complaints was Ina's nonstop dodging of plothooks, but upon review I honestly wonder if she simply didn't know how to behave in such an unfamiliar environment; it goes to show how immersed she was (and also leads some credence to the rrat that Ina had a very strict, conservative upbringing).

For the most part, the current roster seems to be immersed and enjoying the role their characters bring to the table. The only wildcard is Watoto, but unlike most of the raging autists on this board, I'm not going to withhold final judgment until we see Ame perform in a group setting.

It's mostly the /tg/ cross-pollinators that sperg out, I've noticed. They have a very weird purity-mindedness when it comes to their hobby. Anyone following Huntermyth with any modicum of attentiveness would know that the core motivations of the entire endeavors are:
-Calli, as the event organizer, being a fan of TTRPG
-making an honest and entertaining attempt at TTRPG in the English-speaking vtuber scene (JP holos doing their own is nice, but good luck with that language barrier; not everyone can be arsed to learn one of the least-spoken languages on the planet)
-breathing a little life into a hobby that has been limping along for years now

There have been minor mistakes here and there (Calli has miscounted a few die rolls here and there, but fuck who doesn't from time to time?), but to have a shitfit over refining and making alterations to the homebrew rules during the TUTORIALS is just stupid. Sigmar forbid that people do human things like experiment a little and modify their own systems a bit. When the holos do good, I'm there to praise it; when they fuck up I expend the same amount of effort pointing it out in as constructive a manner as possible.

There are lots of targets on the webs that deserve a whole heap of shit being flung at them, but a quintet of dorky youtubers with animoo avatars trying a different avenue of entertainment is one of the few wholesome things we have going on right now. There's a reason the vtubing community is protective of its oshis, and somewhat hostile to foreign interference; it's a relatively pure place of (somewhat?) healthy escapism, and they don't want to see it invaded and shat up like so many other entertainment mediums.

Also, we need more Chad fanart, and a lot more Justin.

First tutorial was definitely a "see me after class" sort of session. Performing GM in front of 25k viewers probably gave poor pinky some jitters, though she is showing marked and notable improvement, what with refining the rules throughout each session. Hopefully she has everything squared up for the first group event. Honestly? I like it. Tiara's concept is wrapped up in a bit of magic anyway, with the vaguely-defined borderline supernatural animal communication. Mori seemed to be building up to something with it, like how her brother was already wrapped up in the World of Darkness relating to the locket and their family and how not!J-Chad mentioned how "Everyone" knew about her brother.

If anything, isn't that a good sign? It shows the holos themselves put thought into their PCs and refined them after the initial CC stream, rather than clinging to the first pretty piece of fanart that came out. It shows that they are invested in this endeavor, and rightfully so; it has taken off way more than anyone expected. I bet Calli browses the booru and twitter tags with ever increasing smugness, aware that her little project has borne such results.

For one, I like seeing the art for Gura's blind shadow courier girl because it adds lore and history to the Mythbreakers mythos. Didn't Gura go through 4-5 more concepts and iterations before finally settling on Scout? She was really invested in her character, and the debut stream showed that.

I only know about WoD from vampire the masquerade bloodlines, so I have very little knowledge, but I remember someone saying that mages in general are extremely overpowered in that world matching or surpassing elder vampires in power. Other way around, Sword World exists due to Lodoss, which began as a series of D&D replays though IIRC they also used the setting with Runequest. Sword World was made as a system more accessible to Japanese players, due to the rarity of unusual dice, and as one they could sell as a Lodoss product.

If you're a Lost, i.e someone abducted by the fae it's generally assumed you're kinda young.
I honestly don't think it's smuggling. I think one of Oopsie's students simply found & killed the fake person that was made to replace them. When you're in a college town with not much else there it's pretty likely you'll run into the false you pretty quickly or have someone point it out.

I enjoyed Tiara's tutorial well enough, but it was a definite slow burn. In terms of quality I'd say the tutorials go Scout ---> Yuul ---> Tiara = Watoto. It helps to remember this is virgin land these ladies are working, so the first few attempts are going to have some growing pains.
