It isn't quite as true yet for valo, but vsai apex was the biggest event most of them ever aspired to be in. Hence the month long scrim session. By the next vsai valo people might put in the same amount of enthusiasm.
Still, you can't call it "just a showmatch". It's the most important showmatch. RC cups aren't as important anymore, and even when they're done properly, the vtubers get overshadowed by all the ex pros.

I'm not so sure about that. She is extremely inconsistent, but just happened to do very well today. Yesterday was the opposite.
Sumire is probably the best tier4 player though.

Things are looking a lot better for Ramuchi's team. While Noah played terribly the first two maps, Ramuchi stepped up big time and the team looked a lot more coordinated. Atmosphere was way better as well, with everyone cheering for each other. I think it helped a lot that Tennn stopped microing the team and let them do their own thing.
After scrims they did two hours of zagaku, going over post-plant and retake, and focusing a lot on Haven. They hadn't previously went over any of that stuff, so I think they'll be much improved if they're able to get it down.
Next they play against Akarin's team. I started watching their scrims, and Akarin looks really strong. This should be a big test to see where they stand and how much they've learned.

My personal opinion, but they should focus on playing their strengths instead of trying to emulate ideal picks even when the members aren't suited to it. Tier 2 doesn't necessarily need to play due, but they should be given priority in what they WANT to pick. For example using Ayame here, she said she's comfortable in using Reyna or KJ so either they try to work out a lineup with Reyna in it, or they give her KJ. Then after that Tier 3 gets the turn, and so on until the Tier 5 gets stuck with the role that nobody wants to play. Cruel for the Tier 5, but if you want to win that's the easiest way.
