Both are more or less the same type of thing, Nijisanji's popularity and outreach in the west has been tepid at best so most people here are Hololive fans after the explosion in 2020. There is some bad blood on the Japanese side of things from some old incidents between fan groups, long before anyone here watched either one, but people emulate the Japanese fandom in a cargo-cult fashion and try to continue the fight.

Nijisanji talents are mass produced from people who weren't good enough to get into Hololive and apex addicts.

Much like children, Hololive fans are easily entertained by loud noises and incomprehensible babble. They can speak neither English nor Japanese with any skill, which helps protect them from the well deserved contempt in which they are held by every Hololive member. It's the place where you can find past their prime camwhores, failed musicsians and idols, and people who weren't good enough to get into Nijisanji.

Holostars is the male branch of Hololive. Holostars is for people who will use every excuse in the book for why their personal gay crush is underratted, besides the fact that they're shit chubas. Comments that support holostars collaborating with hololive recieve thousands of upvotes on Reddit, which is thousands times more than the amount of people who actually watch them.

If you want to watch youtube videos with a scammer, an adulterer, a pornstar, a SJW, a dramamonger and someone who is dying to have a taste of some Anglo cock, Vshoujo is for you. Lots of poo poo and sex jokes enthral their audience of 17 year olds.

The indie vtuber generals are for the vtubers dumb enough to actually want attention from the desperate stalkers and unloved incels who will worship at the feet of anybody who happens to use /vt/ memes. With the amount of disapperances, breakdowns, and people who immediately drop 4chan once they get any kind of clout, indie vtuber generals have the highest suicide rate of any board, and hopefully will continue to climb.

Tsundere/Prism Project/Kawaii Productions/Phase Connect are all Hololive clones, and will die within a year.
