So I've been watching indies for about two whole days, and let me tell ya: these girls have no reason to join hololive. Their content is better, their humor is also usually better no matter how much people cope by using one repeated example of a girl saying "penis" (which happens in hololive too but whatever), they got better models, rigging, their collabs are actually fun and a LOT of them can sing very well. And a lot of them stream a lot despite having a day job, they don't just mysteriously vanish. The fact that they built up what they have from working their normal jobs and eventually building up their own community is extra charming. There's indies that basically stick to their own groups of girl friends as well so not much different than hololive either so you don't deal with random dudes or homo drama as you know it. Speaking of drama, it's not as prevalent as you've been lead to believe. Most of these communities are from independent vtubers that network with one another and help each other grow more and more via collabs and raids. There's a lot of positivity out there if you look outside the radioactive tumor shit from twitter. But anyway.

My point being: this is why they took so long to release Advent. As someone that has directly scouted and taken an interest in more or less gauging what's available in the talent pool, I can safely say not every woman out there is just running face first into the chance to join hololive. Most of them take full advantage of being in total control of what they do, including actul creative and fun ideas to celeberate their growth. Corporate vtubing, as of right now, is for the people that want to skip ahead because they always had plans to join corporate.

Hololive isn't going anywhere and neither is any other large name corpo, but at some point they must each accept that they will continue to grow stale in the Western market. It works in Japan because the Japanese are all about loyalty to what they know, you see it in their media tropes and such. The less it changes, the more they like it.
