Yeah this boss is pretty bullshit.
p1 just feels like a waste of time, and you can get unlucky during it with shit moves. It has 3 separate stand up slam attacks with the same animation, but different speeds.
Then p2 you need a few attempts to really get it down, so p1 feels like even more of a waste of time.

A lot of chat has trouble with the concept of someone willingly standing in front of moves to try and learn the perfect parry timing, if I were being generous I'd guess they just weren't watching the character animations and assumed she was just trying to raw block
Which is a little silly 5 streams and this far into the game in, but every other flesh/virtual streamer I've seen play the game seems to gravitate towards just "raw block everything and and try to heal the chip if you can" instead so I guess they're just bringing that here

Ran through poison swamp too, making her way through the big green recycled asset boss now too
Phase 1 was basically downloaded though she's playing it at 200% greed because a good opener basically lets her one-shot it if she's lucky and she pulled it off once or twice, the usual Biboo special

you kind of have to play it to understand. The enjoyment comes from improvement. Every time you fail, you're like "If I'd just avoided this mistake, I would've had that". You improve bit by bit, learning to counter each attack, and when you finally win, there's nothing like it. That's why this genre is so hard to do right though, because when you fail, you need to feel like it was your fault and not the game being bullshit.

It might seem weird to get stuck on the same boss for hours, but there's a "one more run, this next run is the one" thing to it that makes the time fly by

Sense of reward. It feels pretty good when you beat a hard boss. Plus you get to see more cool stuff after you beat it.
its also partly skill acquisition. It feels good to see how you improve and overcome things. A very important aspect of these games, that some devs dont understand, is that you should feel the fault lies on your skills not on bullshit boss design. Sure the games always have some bullshit, but as long as its not the majority its fine.
One thing lies of P does well is that you can almost always blame yourself due to how the parry system works.

I actually struggled to beat souls games past DS1 until watching Biboo. Applying her just keep grinding and pushing forward mentality I've cleared ds2, ds3, and am on the 2nd to last boss of lies of P.

Once you start methodically taking the bosses apart bit by bit it is quite empowering. You just have to learn to take failure on the chin. That said I don't force myself to marathon a boss if I'm on tilt, but I'm also not a streamer. Usually, if you come back a day later the brain had time to kinda figure it out.

Chat was going on at the start about how much she'd have to spec against the decay and bring fire or elec and it seemed pretty irrelevant as usual as long as she parried everything, and I saw some complaints about the digging attack but it looked like she figured it out pretty quickly. Feels like her main issue was just taking time to download phase 2 due to it melting through the heals, and afterwards just needing to execute with basically no margin for error due to that damage + the guy being fat enough to survive 3-4 fatals?

Well regardless, it's the number one complaint I've seen about the game. And I definitely share the sentiment. LoP bosses don't feel like they can be fought in a reactionary manner. In other words, you will never be able to win on your first attempt through pure skill. The have to be fought 30 times until you have a perfect muscle memory of their moveset

They can be, though you'll likely have to keep the difficulty low-middling (without purposely building up a competent team for the AI), or have the designated "units res after each map or literally next turn" explicitly casual modes turned on. It was really more of a comment on how minimal FE's story still is for reading, despite them supposedly moving in that direction instead of prioritizing the gameplay.

In Blue Archive's case specifically, there are endgame raidbosses where you need to be casting those reposition/heal/shield skills while timing DPS burst windows or dealing with raid mechanics, etc.
