You have to understand, part of Kiryu Coco leaving is because she was unhappy with the current hololive management and how she couldnt express herself like she did before. Haachama is also having this struggle.

Would you want your Kaichou to be unhappy, create low quality content for the next year until she finally graduates but at that point people gave up on her?

Or rather while she still has enough energy, uses whats left of it to create the greatest graduation ceremony in history of hololive and leaves as a heroine?

Kiryu Coco may have left Hololive, but her legacy will never fade. Its because of her that english speaking audience picked up on vtubers and its because of her HoloEN and independent english vtubers spawned. Be happy for her, because her legacy will continue for a long time, if not hololive, some other indie will continue passing the torch

She's being forced to retire due to the Taiwan shit.

>> No.5997575

Nobody forced her to retire. She has been talking about graduating for 3-4 months. Seriously compare her in 2020 where she made asacoco news, the hair removal stream, countless porn jokes. She even had large projects that were never realized because of cover.
In 2021 hololive changed. They had to tone down on the controversial content, haachama constantly taking hiatus, cocos content was reduced to meme reviews and a couple of talk streams here and there, hell the cover management DIDNT LET HER COLAB WITH HOLOEN until she announced her graduation. It was only then they gave her more freedom, but at that point it was too little to late.

Im not saying zhangs didnt have a place in this, they probably did, but only small part. The major part was definitely the "Dont stream anything that would get us demonetized"

I'm still holding out for the possibility that she earns enough money on her own terms since Cover won't be taking a cut anymore that she can buy out her character and run it independently - and then pave the way for the other girls to do so too.

Basically start 'Holohouse' but as her own company.

I'd say it was a combination of factors..

One: YouTube being virgin-kun to the max and freaking out over the slightest sign of cleavage, bikini models or pantyshots like some kind of puritanical retard. This meant having to curtail content to meet YouTube's shitty standards.

Two: The Taiwan incident. Specifically the fact that it caused so much harassment that Cover staff and management had to step in and take a more hands-on approach in order to protect their talents. The unfortunate byproduct of this is that by increasing the oversight, you also put a bunch of upper management geezers, who know fuckall about the actual business but are simply shareholders who like to throw their weight around, in charge of decision-making.

The harassment from the bugs might have made Coco upset, but I'd argue it was those two aforementioned things that played off of one another and proceeded to stifle and choke her creative approach and her ambitions. She probably planned a lot of shit, made a lot of arrangements and put her own money into things, only for some dumbass suit who never even uses the internet to tell her she can't do it.

I’m hardly ever on /vt/, but Coco’s story made me want to pay a visit. I have watched few of her streams and I really liked them. It’s sad she’s gone.

Gen 6 will be stealth chinese. They'll stream for a month in Japanese before revealing their plans for 50% Chinese content. Vsingers/EN2 will debut at this time to distract normie fans and soften the blowback.

>> No.6001456

Why would they want new gens?
Currently they are making so much money anyway.
Unless there's niche left to be filled, else you are just introducing competitions within the company and will burn out each others trying to compete with each others and drag each others down.
Wait until their contents become stale, and the viewers increments are slowing down, only then introduce some new gen mates.

EN2 need to be out asap though, since it's a known fact.
The longer it takes, the more hype there will be, and the more disappointment there is when it couldn't meet everybody's unrealistic overhyped expectations.

The one who graduated was not Coco but those who remained and will now start their slow death.

Real talk for a moment, but can we appreciate the difficulty and stress that no doubt comes along with having to keep a keen eye on trends and the highs-and-lows of hype in order to find just the right moment to announce something?

Not only that but to also have everything ready to go for said announcement so you make it on time? Especially on the internet where shit is turbulent as fuck and moods shift day to day. That shit'll turn a man grey trying to ride the wave.

Wouldn't it make more sense for a virtual idol company to do away with graduations and just allow returns, even if temporary? I mean in Coco's situation she left because it sounds like she wanted more but for people on good terms isn't that possible? Anything from maybe once a week to a month or even only special events could be a good compromise. At that point you could even consider it gig work.

She is allowed to return and continue to reprise her role as Coco. If you had watched Coco's interview with YAGOO, you would know this.

Graduation is a general term for "person is leaving the company" irrespective of circumstances. Coco's case was amicable enough that she can come back. They even gave the option to Aloe, but she's too menhera for her own good.
