In regards to this part in particular, I think I actually preferred the original. I had a profound beauty to it about two kids sharing a feeling that they couldn't define in words and didn't really understand. That kiss scene under the stars in the original was amazing. As for this version, it's definitely not bad but the flashbacks didn't really have the same impact in comparison. The pacing felt rushed (especially in the scene where Anon scolded Suisei for not going to school) and Suisei's idol dreams felt shoehorned in.
I preferred the reunion in the original too, and while I think I get what you're doing with Suisei's split personality, I'm not sure that I like it. You're also going to have to pull some crazy shit with the Shadow Woman thing to convince me that it's a good idea to add. I do look forward to how you'll change up the second half though.

As for the feedback, that's all fair. Like, I've already worked out the plot of this thing and I'm saying this now: those who liked the original may not like this story at all. It's really its own thing with a totally different vibe, and I went into writing it with that understanding in mind. Some people will probably even hate it.

I expected this to just be the first half of your contest fic with expanded scenes and fixes to some of the issues raised, this.... isn't that, but I still like it.
Anyway, here's my loosely structed thoughts like last time
I liked the worldbuilding set up here better. Its just structured better, with the musical cut-ins just adding that extra kick; honestly surprised you didn't put up more blue links to music.
Also loved the expanded (pre)incest buildup with the flashback scenes. Though I do have to agree with the other anon, the contest version did the "The First Take" scene better. In fact the cut-in with the contest prose almost seems like an acknowledgement that this isn't going to be the same kind of story.
For lack of a better word, this felt like the second route in a VN where they assume you already know the set up from the first route so they just pop right into the story with the altered set-up.

I really enjoyed your contest ver but with the way things are going here, I'm probably gonna end up liking this a lot more. First of all, I really like the expanded past, it just adds a whole lot more flavour and depth to the relationship. The structuring I feel just makes it more of a 'better' read. I will agree with that anon that the dreams of being an idol were a little rushed, relegated to only a single paragraph in the flashback. However, I will go against the grain and say I enjoyed the first meet here over the contest ver. I'm finding it a little hard to put it into words but the somber and almost somewhat anticlimactic meeting of the two lends more to what you're building towards. I feel like it plays well with anon's doubt of Suisei and how she's changed during their years apart. It just feels more fitting to me if you get what I'm saying.
Also, the 'Shadow Woman' does sound like a Sunday morning cartoon villain, made me laugh when I first read it. I enjoyed this and I look forward to the next chapter, great work anon!

I mean in theory with The Clubroom you could have it be a pseudo-sequel where nerd Fauna and/or yume Shiori discover the mind control method chadcast was using to try and steal the main character. With the ending hypnosis battle/confrontation between chadcast and nerds being something you can leave for the future if you just want to write the smut parts.

I've always been of the philosophy that all good things should come to an end when it's proper. Seen way to many anime and tv shows go on far past their expropriation date and I would hate for any of my works to become bad out of to much attachment to them.

The story of the black lion is simply running to its end. It was very fun while it lasted and that's what matters. May there be many more passion projects to come.
