FF16 had some of the dev team onboard and was basically designed so that you look as flashy as an experienced, high-APM DMC player while pressing a fraction of the inputs. The combat looks aesthetically similar and there are some similar aspects if you choose to push FF16 to its limits (for example, you can just button mash, or you can buffer inputs/maintain resources to juggle an enemy into the skybox for no reason besides style points), but in general 16 is much more streamlined and casualized, especially compared to older DMCs.

Yeah, I was mostly referring to the giant shitty rank grade that gets slapped in your face at the end of each stage if you ignore Style, but I'm sure plenty of gamers ignore that and are just happy to clear at all. It doesn't help that DMC heavily gates your movesets behind orb purchases and style levels too, so you start off conditioning players to just Stinger everywhere.
Biboo will certainly notice the rank, and I figure Pebbles want her to play it because she likes labbing and looking cool, but the problem is that she also seems to refrain from this on-screen. DMC was designed for multiple playthroughs and doing your reps, unless she puts in some time offscreen like Holocure it may well look pretty boring to watch. The old comparisons of watching DMC being like watching a fighting game player who knows their combos, versus a newbie who jumps all over and autocombos the CPU or smacks them with a big heavy, stands true to this day.

If you play the game for dozens of hours you can bully and style on enemies for 30+ second MvC3 combos, there's was (is?) a whole-ass community with competitions about trying to make the most over-the-top or flashy combo videos and showcases

Though if you've played the game for zero hours you won't even have half these moves or abilities, and a lot of these require full familiarity with your moveset or a ton of consistently tight inputs. New players, even experienced beat-em-up players like Biboo, won't produce anything as flashy, partially by design. Newer entries have gotten better about it but it's a very "the game is what you make of it" series, individual playthroughs are quite short and you're meant to loop repeatedly and watch yourself grow from absolute clown to untouchable kung fu master flying around

I learned to love Lies of P regardless of how many hours it took me to clear some bosses. Advance build is so fun and you can adapt to any situation. I think Neowiz could do the Wizard of Oz follow-up they teased well.

It's a pretty meh game, It's really good for the devs first souls game but it also has a lot of problems but the "community" likes to act like it's the best game of the 21st century so you can't really talk about it. They really want you to memorize boss fights but then do things like bosses having multiple combos that start with the same attacks so you can't tell if there is going to be an extra hit or not which prevents you from punishing, or certain attacks having insane delay with the actual attack being done in 2-3 frames. I enjoyed it but wouldn't play it again, but I am interested in their next game to see what they learned from this one.

If you are trying to perfect guard everything the game become bullshit hard and not really the way it was intended, just learn to attack back for healing and the game suddenly become more easy
Considering you can heal from just by attacking it is understandable to have less parry frame or else game will become baby Sekiro

This is what filtered me, I beat the game but had no desire to go back and do ng+ because I felt like I was bruteforcing it by the end with heavy gear and blocks, I don't have the reflexes to parry anything on reaction and if getting good at the game means learning internal timings for every boss I have no interest in it.

Extremely frustrating game with some cool design but at least the difficulty got nerfed if Biboo does decide to push through it.

I think the biggest problem is that if you just look at the game on a surface level it seems like you have to perfect guard everything. From the early tutorial that says you can't dodge the red attacks to important dodge mechanics being locked behind the skill tree most people won't know that dodging is actually good unless they're told about it.

Sekiro let you get into a flow landing parries easily because the attacks were readable and you could see the swings coming which made it fun to play, lies of p's latter half has SO many bullshit attacks that come out in a couple of frames that it starts to rely on rote memorization to engage with the perfect block mechanic. It's a shame too because a boss like scrapped watchman was fun and satisfying with every attack being very readable and reactable. You are right about the game still being pretty fun if you don't mind eating shit and being knocked out of the zone constantly though.

No, it's because in Sekiro you can animation cancel your attacks into a block/parry. In Lies of P, if you press the attack button you are committed and can't defend yourself. Also the parry window in Sekiro is bigger.

I watched most of it and most of her deadbeats probably never set foot into Nest with their builds. The few that looked like they knew what they were doing destroyed her even with her double zimmermans.

However Biboo is pretty clueless about the mechanics of AC6 so she wouldn't fare very well. Plus it would be pretty boring if they kept using the same builds for 2 hours. I saw Patra's PvP stream with her viewers and she had like 10+ off meta builds that she switched between matches that she knew hot to play, which made it pretty interesting even for like a 5+ hour stream.
