Aside from that, IronMan is one of the protagonists of the MCU, and Captain America is Sora. Captain America started it all, and Iron Man's sort of the one who was built under Captain America's shadow (in SHIELD) but built his own legacy. It's in very general terms called J-pop, with some of Suisei's setlists crossing in the J-Rock. Ado, Yorushika, Yoasobi, Kenshi Yonezu, Lisa are all big names in this genre right now, but sometimes Suisei extends her set-lists further back in time, to people like Shingo Reena.

Suisei's vocal profile is actually very representative of many of the strong singers in this genre - she might call herself an idol, but her voice is built for professional J pop Solo work, rather than most idol music.

This raises a question. How much input does Suisei has on the song lyrics that she didn't write? Comet has lyrics talking about the beginning of her career and how she'll shine among others, Pieces has lyrics talking about how she will not stop singing even when no one hears her anymore, Bluerose has lyrics talking about how she'll be there to comfort and to keep giving her all of your feelings, even bitter ones, no idea about Now On Space but I imagine something similar happens. We could say that she doesn't leave all the lyrics to another person and it's always (lyrics person) + Suisei in those songs, even if she doesn't credits herself in the description or MV. Is this the norm for a lot of solo artists?

I don't know much about the music industry, but she probably comes to the writer with a general concept for the song and maybe some creative motifs. Then the writer fleshes out the song in collaboration with Suisei, seeing if any lines don't work for her or if she has any improvements, until it's finished and ready to perform.

That's pretty much exactly how it works. It's different from people like (most) other girls in Hololive who clearly are not focused on music (Okayu sure as hell did not write her song one bit, just sings it). For people like Suisei who from the start wanted to have their own original music, they hire/commission a composer but are heavily involved in the conceptual part of the songwriting, and the composer is usually pitching musical drafts to the artist. (I think this should totally count for the front artist to be considered an author along with the main composer but that's just how it is)

Nah, things are done for a reason. There is probably some kind of marketing strategy involved and that reveals something about the direction Suisei wants to go to. Upon a second look, it turns out that Ghost is the default video playing while viewing without logging in and Bluerose when logged in, that is as a subscriber. And given that the lyrics of Ghost are "please notice me" and Bluerose is aimed at the fans, it makes sense why those two would be chosen. It's probably just me and getting way too into things autistically, but it feels disingenuous to say that she did x or y thing because of recent events. People can do things when they want to, and suisei especially. She sang her heart away, yes, and certain themes in her recent songs are very similar to recent events, but putting it in the way that it was foreshadowing her feelings about Coco's graduation is just using hindsight and tinted glasses rather than actually foreshadowing what it was. The songs can be used to describe how she feels, but was it actually how she felt at the time of making the song? Who knows.

Bluerose has a pretty interesting meaning. In the past, a blue rose was impossible to make, so it had the meaning "impossible". And after they found the way to make blue roses, the meaning changed to "dreams come true". Natsushiro Takaki said it really fits to Suisei.

Fair enough, actually I almost deleted that mention of Coco because I don't really buy it myself, and mostly threw it in as a conversation piece because people were talking about it upthread. Probably should have done that since it seems to have caused a misunderstanding. However mysterious the ways of Youtube be, there is definitely thought put into what a new viewer gets to see first, and Suisei especially is someone who is very good at marketing herself. Saying she doesn't put effort into that is selling her terribly short. In very brief detail:

The schism of Haachama's fanbase came from her shift from Haato to Haachama, but really settled in with her prolonged lore arc which attracted alot of new fans, but alienated most of the old fans.

Matsuri's fanbase suffered two schisms - firstly by forming a close working relation with Rikka and the wider Holostars, and then U-turning on this with reduced interaction, rather than say, pressing on into it's logical interaction say a Rikka music Producer and Matsuri vocalist style two unit. But the one that really set badly with her fanbase, was her Apex addiction arc, after an Apex tournament last summer ended in disaster.

On the Hoshiyomi end, it's already been answered by another anon, but Suisei has always been extremely clear about what her general goals and objectives are right from the start - make it big enough in the music industry to make all the idol agencies who rejected her to regret it, and do her part in pushing Vtubedom into the mainstream of Japanese entertainment.

Her oldest fanbases have an absolute consensus with this objective, and generally also are pragimatic enough to give Suisei alot of latitude to pursue these objectives, latitude which Suisei has been both cautious in using, but also takes care to justify within her Zatsudans.

She also has a commitment to remain as similar as possible while attaining her goals. Changes therefore tend to be made on the grounds of necessity, which Suisei communicates thoroughly with fans - you can see this with how she engaged her fanbase with the need to change her voice, to remain in the industry long term.

She's also very careful to set clear objectives each year to achieve, objectives that are consistent with why the oldest Hoshiyomis support Suisei in the first place. For example, this year, she set three objectives:

1. Get 1 million subs. (Done)
2. Produce an Album (She's well on her way there with her recent release cycle)
3. Get more TV appearances (Depends on Q3/Q4)

All three objectives are absolutely consistent and necessary to her longer term goal of making it big in the Japanese entertainment industry.

Basically, Suisei builds her brand on a very clear set of objectives and principles, many of which demand a long-term commitment and would take many, many years to achieve. She also sets annual scale goals of realistically achievable objectives to this longer term goal, to keep her on the same page with long term fans and put forth a sense of progress, a sense of journey..
