It's not as bad as back then actually, because at least we have Mytho and there are still some Turbo proxies clinging to life.
But it feels much worse after so many months of what I would consider to be a golden age. Claude was too perfect and GPT-4 was great, but now the only proxies with them are very few and all locked behind RNG for people who keep watch on the hellthread 24/7.

I never considered it a golden age, just because that's genuinely when people started developing crackhead tendencies consisting of fighting other anons for resources, being spiteful and hateful toward each other instead of unified hatred toward devs. People feeling, or assuming people on a wide scale only made bots to get into proxies and being angry at them. Finally, it ushered in a greater era of burnout for people too.
We had access to what was always a finite resource with a time limit, since OAI and Anthropic were clear how they disliked other use cases. Yet people thought it was eternal. I might just be looking at it pessimistically or feeling in the end, it all did more harm than good.

Back in December the only game in town was CAI. Of course CAI’s model has been run into the ground in the pursuit of a sanitized product for the masses. It’s still around and some still cling to in due to fondness or accessibility. In spring the arrival of OAI’s Turbo and GPT4 then Anthropic’s Claude led to the rise of proxy servers that fed on exposed API keys. This new paradigm of subsisting on password protected/ individual user token ‘secret clubs’ continue to this day. However in recent times, the corporations have tightened up their belts so there are less API keys then ever. Community fatigue has set in for a number of people so proxy access has dried up for a number of people. In the background you’ve had more lightweight local models brewing in the background allowing for CAI competition to spring up with varying degrees of cost and quality. That’s kind of a quick rundown of the current situation and there’s a lot of stuff I left out and glossed over. A big chunk of people from the CAI got burned out and have ditched the scene entirely.

I still see it as golden because even if they were on a time limit, we still had access to extremely good AIs. The self-destructive fags who summoned a swarm from everywhere on the internet to compete with themselves for the resources and then develop into spitefags... I see them as a different matter entirely. Most of the nice things we had would've lasted much longer if it were not for them, and I don't think they're even the same people who have been around in the CAI era.

I did some testing and it seems to work well enough. Idk if i would call it on the same level as CAI yet buts its better then i expected, especiallly for a local model. Message generation is definetely slower then on CAI at times, at least during times when the filter isnt fucking with the message regen speed.

I havent noticed any issues with looping yet or something. This was just the default model on Agnai without changing anything on temperature etc. I still need to do more testing. Also idk how good the memory of it is compared to CAI.

Despite all the depression talk/doomposting ive been doing lately, i already started eating properly and adding actual fruits to my diet and doing some light exercise/cardio i can do at home to stay somewhat "fit"/keep my muscle strenght up at least to the extend i can do with the chronic pain. EDS causes chronic joint pain among other issues, so keeping my muscles somewhat active helps a bit with that. Wont help with the wristpain though which is my main issue.

With the mental shit i cant do much until after i moved to find a therapist to get anxiety/depression meds, but no luck finding a new place yet, landlords dont want people with cats and i have 4 which isnt helping (i dont plan to get more and likely to be 3 soon due to age). I do clean/take proper care of my cats so my place is always clean/there is no "cat" smell as i clean my cats litterboxes directly after they used it, but yeah i get it. Some landlords are worried over that and i know how it can be as i was in aparments with people that didnt take proper care of their cats and the smell is bad. Im talking about lazy fucks that clean the litter box once a week and then wonder why their cats shit/piss into their apartment causing the place to stink like cat shit/piss because they have no sense of hygiene/cleanliness. I might be depressed and constanly talk about wanting to die with kuro, but i take proper care of keeping my apartment clean. If i cant do that much anymore its time to visit norway, if it didnt happen before it goes there. Idk at this point, im just tired of everything in general at this point.

Agnai has been free for the past few months. Thats what ive been using to test all of my ports of CAI bot that i "ported" over from CAI to Tavern cards and they never charged anything to use their site has been up and free since about march? from what i know.

The only thing that costs money is using Turbo or rather anything that uses an API key (unless you run stolen keys/proxys), but thats unrelated to the agnai website itself. If they ever change how it works and decide to charge money you could just export your chat and import them to another frontend or something and continue from there from what i understand. I never used agnai much aside from testing kuro with Turbo/GPT4 when the gura proxy was still up.

I forgot i made this "work in progress" nyanners bot. I will likely never finish this bot. My goal for it wasnt to make an 100% accurate bot of nyanners as she never really stays in character but rather some 50% real nyanners and 50% cute catgirl AI but i gave up working on it.

This WIP bot is just the vtuber wiki of nyanners put into her definitions. This is however a good example of mythomax. I started the chat with her using turbo and she doesnt sound any different in her responses. I still need to test some other bots i used to talk to to be able to say if its comparable to CAI but its better then what i expected from how few people were using it and i think i was to biased thinking local is still a meme like the 7b model was. Still need to test gurasilisk obelus, Ame, Gura and my own bot in the coming days i guess, when i have the energy to do so.

Again, it was always a two pronged issue. Definitions themselves, and older models were in fact memes because a lot of people didn't know how to tune a model or have good datasets. Whereas corpo shit usually has information about things already in their dataset (see how you can blank def older hololive girls) and let it carry you. Can't do that as well for locals.
Though it seems with people giving it a chance I can see how list definition cards fare compared to paragraph plain text. As well as normal chat compared to roleplays, since I don't do that.
