I liked Kiara's the most, and then close 2nd with Gura (could even say they tied for 1st). I feel like their entertainment value was reversed. Gura came out strong as fuck in the beginning, but once shit started hitting the fan kinda dropped her spaghetti and didn't have me feeling invested as much as Kiara. Kiara's was mellow and slow paced in the beginning, but once she first interacted with Vic, it picked up, and especially when she lost her owl. Her being trapped in a house of frenzying vampires, was a bit more engaging than escaping a man eating mine.

I do think Scout and Tiara will have amazing group chemistry though, and will probably be the leaders as the others help accomplish their goals.

Alright, I'm reasonably certain now that what Scout and Nice ran into was a mine spirit, probably around Rank 3-4, which is pretty difficult to handle even for a pack of werewolves or Thyrsus mages. (Above Rank 5 are spirits that might as well be gods, so they have no stats; they do whatever the Storyteller wants.)
A spirit has an Influence that corresponds to its own nature, allowing it to manipulate or create things of that nature. The mine spirit, thematically, then has the ability to create any kind of metal.
A spirit requires Essence to use their Influences. The Influence we are looking at, in Scout's case, is Mass Create - the highest level of Influence - which costs 5 Essence. The spirit can choose to make the duration last anywhere from one minute per success to being permanent - but this costs 2 additional Essence. Essence is not cheap - even a rank 5 Spirit can only have a maximum of 50 Essence.

The mine is almost definitely a Location-Spirit. Here is an example of a corresponding location-spirit that fits the mold, given in the Book of Spirits:

Steed’s Pond (The Water Horse Pool)
Every third spring equinox since the Steed mansion fire marks the time when the pond grows hungry. That is when the Water Horse Council, a group of town elders who seem totally normal to outsiders, gathers to meet and find a new victim. It grows harder and harder to find someone to drown in the pool, and now the council members are old — there are so few new people who will understand the need. Sometimes the pond grows very hungry and very angry — sometimes it feeds upon the townfolk. Twice in their long history, the Council has drawn lots, sacrificing its own, or its children to pond. They bind them and weight them down with the stones from the pond. Then they push them in and bubbles rise slowly and then in a rush. The next morning nothing is there.
But when the pond is newly fed, the Council can come to it and stare into its depths, and the pond can show them the future. The pond sometimes lies, but frequently it does not. Often what it shows is not pleasant.

Deep within the mine, Scout and Nice passed into the Shadow due to a weak Gauntlet, or the Threshold Numen (basically a spirit's ability), and saw the spirit's true representation. The spirit likely uses a variant of the Drain Numen to gain Essence from its victims while also dealing lethal damage, and then uses part of its bounty to reward the human who brings it food by creating the metal. The reason the metal turned to dust was because, perhaps, that the last sacrifice was unusually weak and the mine didn't get enough Essence from it, so it didn't bother to make the effect lasting. It probably does have ways to ensnare prey which wanders into the mine, but every time it uses Numen, it burns Essence, which is why it would rather make 'deals' with the people who go there. The deals probably have no binding power, but the mine would like people to think that they do. Fortunately, Scout arrived at a time when the spirit was almost out of Essence it was willing to spend, which allowed them to get away.
We still don't know why Scout's parents disappeared, though. Perhaps they based it on superstition; but in truth, assuming if really is a spirit, its threats are empty; location-spirits have a limited zone of influence.

Mori directly said in a later stream that it was up to Ina to interpet the order and she could let him go and then tell the prof "ye I got rid of him" and go inside - which was actually the expected development. Mori didn't expect Ina to take the order so literally. From the narrative perspective, it's a big university. Do you think prof would go out of their way to check the janitor schedule to check who was on night shift that day and see what happened to them? She's not a yakuza boss obsessed with subordinates executing orders.

Tiara.
I feel this one had a good mix of everything: roleplay, mystery, action, combat.
By virtue of it being the first session 0 and Tiara being a foreigner it also had the most "normal" Mythton setting I feel. The park, low-income housing, a shopping street, an upper-class street.
The other three setting were all in their own little microcosm around Mythton which isn't bad but it kinda made them feel like the tutorial chapters in Dragon Age: Origins while Tiara felt like a normal RPG beginning.
The only point against that session in my eyes is that Mori tried variable difficulty and went with 6 for normal and 7 for hard while everyone else had to go against 8 at all times. But it kinda balanced out because she nerfed the hell out of Tiara by not giving her a gun and taking her owl halfway through the session.

Scout is a very close second, though. The roleplay was great but the flesh mine felt a bit too grand and on-the-nose for me.

If she describes Watoto's actions in normal words it will flow much better even if the dialogue is still caveman speech.

Most likely. Resources, whether Essence, Willpower, Mana, or Vitae in WOD are scarce; by virtue of the game system itself, single digits are normal for PCs, and low to mid digits for exceptional antagonists like Spirits are more common. Triple digits are completely unheard of. Equivalent exchange is usually how the leeching abilities work - one point of lethal for one point of Vitae, one point of Stamina for Essence, etc. It's extremely rare to see an ability that gives an entity important points like this for 'free'.

I don’t see how it could have been interpreted as anything else, because of one reason. Yuul told Oopsie that she already spoke to the janitor. Oopsie then said to her that she couldn’t let anyone know she was there tonight, and THEN said to ‘get rid of him’.

Coupling those two things meant that there was no other way but to kill this guy. You can’t undo the fact that he met and spoke to you, all you can do that falls under ‘get rid of him’ is to kill. If she didn’t specify that detail, Ina could have just let him go.

Depends on whether or not Kiara will make Tiara timid and calm as she originally wanted her to be.
Realistically Tiara should be the leader at least initially. She had the most "successful" encounter by actually attacking and then running away while everyone else just ran away. Her brother also trained her a bit.
Scout should butt heads with her since she is too headstrong to take orders from a stranger.

Tiara and Watoto should get along if Tiara is willing to give him some of her bird snacks.
Depending on when everyone arrives Dr. Nice and Scout with her 3 points in medicine might be able and needed to patch up Yuul for some instant goodwill.

Someone needs to tell these girls that they need to have at least 1 dot in athletics if they don't want to stop getting raked over the coals. Most of the time in Hunter is spent evading the super natural until you have that brief moment where you have the upperhand. It also doesn't make sense for a character like Gura's farmed raised girl to not have at least 1 dot in it. Anyone with an active childhood would have one dot.

Scout > Yuul > Tiara > Watoto
Scout's was great, espcially with Gura taking a proactive part in shaping the story. The build up the climax were both excellent. Ina and Kiara were both equally good but circumstances put make me put Yuul above Tiara. The homebrew rules in Kiara's session made it a bit too easy for her. With every die roll in climax going in Tiara's way, it wasn't as tense as it could be. Watoto was a bit too in-character to be enjoyable. Taking on the Hook is absolutely going to be a monumental task, basically like trying to kill Jason, but if they are going to even attempt it (and they might not) then cold iron is likely going to be part of the solution, probably in concert with vehicles given Yuul and Scout's fondness for them. Assuming they aren't intimated and can control their spaghetti, surely at least a couple of Gen 2 would be interested in joining in. Actually I feel like the problem is they wouldn't feel comfortable joining unless they all could. Otherwise they get a guaranteed biweekly group collab with all of Gen1 including literally the biggest vtuber on Earth. It could cause some hard feelings if some of them were left out.

Ideally -- hear me out -- Mori does the same setup again with Gen 2, with 1:1 tutorials, each girl gets to do a design stream with fans, then they run a group campaign separate from Gen 1. Then down the road they can mix and match depending on who's interested and available, and if someone doesn't want to commit long-term they can drop by for one shots or short sessions. Maybe eventually someone gets confident enough to be GM of their group so everything doesn't hinge on Mori's availability.

Too optimistic? Dammit I just want more quality TTRPG streams with a good GM. They are hard to find.

You said it yourself, I think having Mori juggle two of these campaigns at once is a recipe for disaster. I'd rather her focus on the one, and if the other girls wanna pick up the torch and start their own, even better. FBK had a few tabletop streams so it's not a foreign concept for Hololive.

CofD is better across the board. Base mechanics are much more suitable to the type of stories that the games are trying to tell. They aren't clunky and the combat isn't so bad that the game literally tells you to stop after three turns like 5th edition does.

VtR is way better than V5 or V20. The disciplines are more fun and better balanced. I do like VtM lore better with the more globally organized vampiric society, but all that can be brought over wholesale. Clans are a bit harder to bring over, and I do like those, but there is a translation guide for v20.

Mage is kind of a toss up, but I do prefer Awakening better. I like the way its magic works better. Lore sucks for both of them (sorry not sorry).

Never played a werewolf game in either system, so who knows which is better.

Demon the Descent is amazingly fun, probably my favorite of all the games. The spy thriller aspect of it can lead to all kinds of interesting situations.

Haven't played Deviant yet, but definitely interested.

Geist and Promethean can be fun to play if your GM is good, or a horrible slog to go through if not. More so Promethean than Giest. Also depends a bit on the other players.

I haven't played a Mummy game in either system, but Curse does seem a bit unfun to play. I'm not entirely sure what kind of stories it is trying to tell at all. Resurrection might be better, but they seem like such drastically different games that it might be like comparing DtF to DtD.

All that said, one of my favorite games ever was a Wraith game and nobody actually likes Wraith so it probably depends a lot on your table.

But for example Jason Carl is a very good GM. The thing is that for an audience and the players it is probably way more interesting to just play as a whole group and let someone seperate do the heavy lifting of GMing and planning.
Also them not having a massive following is why I'd expect them to offer a GM rather than a guest player

Well worth pointing out that if this is a CofD spirit it doesn't actually need to be killing to survive. Things make Essence just by existing, so this mine will generate Essence or the spirit is consuming Resonant Essence from other sources in and around the mine. Next up, a rank 3-4 spirit controls territory and has political power in the spirit world. This means tithe, smaller spirits will give it pieces of Essence as supernatural protection money. Spirits don't really need all that much essence to survive all in all. Going by WtF2e's better categorizations though, it'd be an Artificial Spirit with the Location Umia (innate subgroup) and potentially the Mine Ilthum (opt-in sub-subgroup). However, I've yet to see the session. I kinda think you're wrong about it either way though, it sounds more like a Magath to me.

This. 100%. Although I agree the lore in VtM might be "better" I don't think it's nearly as fun, nor does it make for a better game compared to the two. Also Deviant is a total fucking blast, play Deviant. WtF2e has the better system, it actually makes shapeshifting important mechanically past "You gain stats" and narratively more interesting because of the attached mechanics and the rage of the Gauru form. Curse is kind of a lot ot get into though. But if there is a thread up after this we can talk a bit about that if people want to here why time travelling amnesiac "Egyptian" paladins are so cool.
