He never said but I suspect his sexuality probably came into swing around that age as well. Started writing a Vox Wilson praise kink thing inspired by the dinner event on their recent trip. I was going to post it when I finished but my writing inspiration has fucked off so have the progress so far;

Willy Vox fic

“Sir?”

The waiter was eyeing him expectantly, having poured a small amount of wine into his glass. Oh, no. The “correct” thing to do, Wilson supposed, would be to sip it and then nod a confirmation that it met some sort of standard. He had no idea of what criteria should be considered a pass or fail, but began psyching himself up to taste and then affirm, regardless.

Wait, no. There was something else, wasn’t there? With the previous bottles, once the waiter had poured the small amount, Vox had swirled the glass, grasping the stem between his long fingers, looking at the crimson liquid intently. Once it had stilled, he’d held it under his nose and inhaled, paused, licked his lips.

Ah! So there were multiple ‘steps’ even before the tasting; that meant there were multiple chances to get things wrong! Any confidence Wilson had previously began to build up quickly withered at this realisation, as he became painfully aware of the waiters expectant eyes still on him.

“My apologies; how rude of me to order and then stray from my post!” The deep British voice quelled the anxiety that had stared to rise within Wilson, as Vox slid back into place beside him. He observed gratefully as his senior scooped up the glass, then swirled, observed, sniffed, tasted, and approved. It appeared Vox had once again performed the ritual to a satisfactory standard, as the waiter poured out two generous glasses and fixed them with an expression unreadable to Wilson as he exited the booth.

“Thanks Vox…sorry, I…panicked, I don’t, aha, I don’t really drink wine that much, so I didnt know-“ Wilson’s apology was cut short by a warm chuckle from the demon.
“You could have fooled me, the way you’ve been gulping it down tonight, hmm?”
Wilson felt his cheeks begin to flush. It was true, he had drunk several glasses of wine tonight, many more than he was used to.

The first few bottles had been shared amongst several people at the table, but as the night went on, his senpais had shifted and mingled - he had too, a bit, but as the newest member at the dinner, he had been wary of inserting himself into personal introductions or reunions where he felt he didn’t quite yet belong. Vox had been seated next to him; the veteran member had of course been up and about, mingling with his colleagues, but he seemed to have been making a deliberate effort to return and chat to Wilson frequently. Each time, they’d ended up in an engaging, in-depth conversation - spanning a multitude of topics, from film to games to obscure historical stories.

Wilson had to admit, he wasn’t as clued up on many of these topics as Vox seemed to be, but that didn’t matter; the smooth-voiced Brit had such a compelling way with words that Wilson was sure he could have listened to him reciting nothing but sequential numbers and still found enjoyment in it. He especially enjoyed how Vox beamed at him each time he managed to make a clever contribution to the conversation, or expressed a take that Vox agreed with. At one point a particularly erudite comment had earned him a pat on the shoulder as Vox proudly exclaimed “yes, very good!”

Wilson was surprised by how much this had affected him; sure, approval from his senpais was always nice, but somehow praise from Vox felt different. In a good way, he thought, even though it led to a strange feeling in the base of his stomach that left him slightly confused.

As the various attendees had moved and mingled, it had got to the point where the past three - wait, maybe it was the past four? - bottles of wine had been shared just between himself and Vox. Even the self-assured blonde had to admit to himself that alcohol-wise, he was pretty much out of his depth now.

Wilson was snapped out of this trail of thought by something cold and hard being pressed up against his lips. Startled, he looked up to see that Vox was holding the wine glass to his mouth.

“Mmrr…Mr Akuma…” he managed to grasp the glass and pry it away from his mouth slightly.

“Cmonnnn, I wanna know what you think of this one!! Ish oneofma favourites!” Vox slurred. The demon was certainly adept at drinking, however even he had his limits. With his face as close as it now was to Wilson’s, the blonde could tell from his senior’s reddened cheeks and lopsided grin that the copious amount of wine was beginning to affect him, too.

“I don’t…I don’t know the right wine words” Wilson admitted, laughing nervously and shifting in his seat. His lips were once again met with the rim of the glass being pressed up against them.

“Just try it! Tell me what you taste!” Before he was able to protest, the glass had been tilted, and warm red liquid spilled between his lips. He swallowed - he had no choice - spluttering in shock when the glass was finally moved back. With most people, Wilson was fairly feisty; in any other context he would have had a barrage of strong words to aim at anyone who’d enacted what he’d just experienced. But Vox’s face was so close, his gaze so expectant, that Wilson felt compelled to comply to what he’d been asked, to give a review of the wine his senior has just poured down his throat.

“It was, um…it tasted, rich? Strong?” He racked his brain for the kind of “wine words” he normally associated with his fathers friends, posh old men; ruddy faced and merry after post-golf drinks. “think I could taste some kind of….oak?”

He cringed at the lack of conviction in his own voice, but Vox didn’t seem to mind. Instead, a grin spread across his face.
“Very good, boy. See, you HAVE been listening. This particular wine is known especially for its oaky flavour, which comes from the amount of time it is aged in oak barrels”. As he spoke, Vox draped an arm around Wilson’s shoulders and gave an approving squeeze. Wilson stiffened - it wasn’t unpleasant, in fact quite the opposite, the sudden touch combined with yet more praise had stirred up the confusing feelings in Wilson to the point that they threatened to overwhelm him.

Vox didn’t seem to notice, and continued; “You know more than you give yourself credit for, y’know. Not just about wine; about all sorts of things! I’ve enjoyed our conversations tonight. There’s certainly a clever brain inside that cute little head of yours, isn’t there?” With these words he laid a large hand on Wilson’s head, and ruffled his hair. This was too much for Wilson; he stood up quickly. “I - I’m sorry Mr. Akuma, I just realised I need to le-“

Maybe it was the large amount of wine he’d consumed, maybe it was how flustered Vox’s compliments and touch had made him, most likely it was a combination of both; as Wilson tried to step away from the table, his legs buckled and he fell straight back down into the booth - landing haphazardly against the now confused demon’s chest.

“Hey!! Are you ok?!” Vox once again held on to Wilson’s shoulders, making no attempt to move him from his position now leaning back against his chest. “Did you drink too much? I’ll ask them to bring you some water”

Wilson’s eyes were shut as he attempted to calm himself down, the embarrassment of what had just happened combining with everything else and threatening to send tears spilling from them.
