Actually it is if you're in a different country than your hirer because the costs of suing you for breaking an employment contract would far outweigh any benefits the employer could possibly gain from it. Especially since small corpos don't have resources to do it properly.
A corpo like Sony would be a different thing entirely but even they'd probably use suing only as a last resort if you're doing something brand damaging outside of graduation, because suing your own talent would be the worst PR move possible.

Was the talent applicant pool for Akio Air so dire that they simply just couldn't find someone for the role with equal or better talent but, you know, not underage? If no one else (of better quality) applied because they saw the company was going nowhere for months and it's simply not an attractive proposition anymore, then they have no one else to blame but themselves because they mismanaged their corp and ruined its rep so much that no one else applied and they had to dip into the trashbin.
