Never suggested it wasn't. Never suggested anyone who is subscribed to her disliked her content. I'll say two things though:

1) I'm subscribed to a few channels - including quite a lot of vtubers - whose content I rarely watch. When it comes to several hour long streams, there's probably somer subbers from back in the day or those interested from a pop culture aspect who don't want many of her streams. However, stream engagement is higher for her than most members of hololive, and her song broke records - which I'm all for! The original question was purely about subs. I'm not denying she's doing well to appeal to a broad demographic.

You chumbuds need to chill out a little, at no point did I suggest her fans don't like her content, but lets face it, most people don't really have time to regularly consume content from multiple sources, especially if they're already subbed to other major streamers on twitch and youtube from outside the vtuber scene. It makes sense to go for the most popular one, check out their content, sub if its for them, and largely not care too much about the rest of hololive as its too much of a commitment.

Gura introduced a lot of people to vtubing and those people who are into the vtubing thing are likely to subscribe first all her common genmates, and then explore other holomems from there. For example, there are plenty JOPs on Twitter get into Holo because of same-chan.
There is another type of fans that aren’t really into vtubing and only stay for herself and her commentary and singing. Those people are the reason why she is near 3m when the others are falling behind.

People watched, liked her shitposting songs , subscribed then forgot about her. If she had that many loyal fans her twitch streaming career should have been huge.
