I agree with you that anime, and vtubing are both forms of play-acting for the voice actor or the person behind the avatar. But I disagree that this means they necessarily need to sound different. Sometimes the acting is just putting on a different level of energy or sociability, your "streamer face". Alker's avatar isn't necessarily childlike, either, I'd say it fits a younger woman but not a kid. It's just that it's drawn in a style adapted from Madoka, so everyone looks younger drawn that way. Also I don't use discord, if I did I would have friends and wouldn't be arguing with you in this thread.
