I just hated every aspect of it. I didn't realize just how much I hated coding until I got hit by layoffs and realized I couldn't think of much I felt less motivated to do. The SWE interview loop is awful. Companies always want to do more with less so I was working 80-100 hour weeks which wrecked me mentally and physically since I never had tine to exercise, eat right, or sleep consistently. I'm trying to jump to anything adjacent that would value the experience (tech management + have been working on a cloud certification) since I saved 50%+ of my income in a higher COL area anyways so I don't really care about a paycut.

How much coding experience do you have? Python is usually taught as one of the first programming languages for new people because of how intuitive it is (okay well I absolutely hate how the whitespaces matter, you should use an IDE because Python will refuse to compile if you mix tabs and spaces). If you already having coding experience and you generally understand how computer programming works it'll be a breeze to learn Python in your spare time.
