This got me thinking. When it came up for a new gen, did holoEN say that they didn't want another gen that year?
We know there is precedent for this because StarsJP requested a hold on hiring for Stars until they found their feet.
Is the reason it's taken so long for HoloEN 3 actually because the girls didn't want extra competition?

Was probably a combination of wanting to settle internal problems over redesigns in the EN branch and having management focus on promoting Tempus. If the talents could decide on the EN3 debuts than I doubt they would have been seen until 2024. Cover delayed them until now but the streaming issues with Ina and Gura indicate there were deals getting worked out even into the spring of 2023.

Margins on Holo girls are fucking crazy though. A vtuber model and rigging is nothing compared to the viewership any new Holo debut is guaranteed. It's more of a strategic decision, they don't want to cheapen the brand too much by spamming new gens like Niji. Holo wants to be the prestige corpo, and they are.
