How do we cope sisters? At this rate our livers will have to go back and live with their parents...

People keep bringing this up, but how does the whole business model compare between both companies? How much do niji/holo get from superchats and ads? How much do they get from events? Do talents get a salary on top?

I don’t think it is always 50%, at least not anymore, though it certainly isn’t 1-2%. Fauna was talking about on stream and while she didn’t give exact numbers she did say that some Merch is better than the superchat % and some is worse. She explicitly brought up “birthday” merch as being a safe bet at giving a greater % than superchats.
I think others have talked about it before too.

Supposedly they both have a 50% Youtube revenue cut. Hololive might have an additional baseline salary but that's mostly speculation based on vague comments, Niji probably doesn't have that.

>>53837557
Kson already said on Twitch the 50% was the Vshojo merch cut. Hololive has never revealed their generic merch cut and it could be 10% or even 5%.

If you kindly bribe and then ask one of NijiEN, one of them might did the oopsie and answered your question.

This drama feels 6 months old at this point. Also, a lot of nijien members were friends with holomem before joining so they already know different cuts prior to joining and still apply. If it didn't bother them it shouldn't bother you. Most niji graduations seem to be from overwork anyway.

According to the Zaion doc livers don't receive a salary. Aside from that and the 2% merch cut all we have is speculation.

Kson has never said what Vshojo's merch cut is, just that it exists and she does get some of the profits, contrary to some rrats this board invented.

Hololive on average makes less money percentage wise for merch than they do for superchats as said by both
Fauna: https://streamable.com/0nwjfv
And
Axel: https://youtu.be/ZDgXWNDoIj4?t=1061

Both companies have voice packs that seem to be the best way to support them, JP allegedly used to have a salary but there's no mention of it on the IPO. Granted back when they were allegedly salaried their salaries were supposedly less than minimum wage
Both companies take 30-35% of the money earned from superchats, YouTube takes another 30% and the rest goes to the vtuber.
Niji gets streamlabs which are a 50/50. Voice packs are also 50/50 or more(?)
As far as the rest who knows, Niji gets a lot more conventions and sponsorships but the sponsorships hololive get, especially on the jp end, seem to be more grandiose

Nowhere in her post does it imply her statement is exclusive to hololive. Nor does she had to have left vshojo to complain about her merch cut, specially since days prior she was shitting on her contract for not being a 1M dollar salaried contract, and even asking for anyone interested in her to offer her a better deal.

People like you just ran with it because it makes your "side" look better.

>> No.53838297

i'd guess the cut for hololive depends on whether it's something cover made (for example big merch collabs with other companies where they make shit for multiple holos) vs if it's personalized merch for the chuubas

Let me ask you a serious question.
Do you think that a company who gives 1% cut in merch makes up for that in other revenue streams?
Does that seriously seem likely to you?
A company who gives 1 to 2% of a cut. You think they're giving 50% elsewhere? Seriously?
Can you explain your logic?

>> No.53838445

>>53838146
Voice packs are always the best because they have a production cost of 0, they're essentially superchats, except instead of Youtube taking a 30% cut the online store takes less than 5% (I don't remember the exact number but it's very low).
