Vtubing is one of the only industies I can think of where people think getting paid to work for even 20 hours a week is insanely oppressive slave labor by a black company. Even Kson suggested this and she has worked real jobs before. Nijsanji might only hire contractors and give them harsh metrics to meet and have a toxic work culture, and small corpos that barely are scrapping by might expect quite a lot, but all Hololive cares about is being able to market you and sell merch and streaming is part of that.
Even the Japan trip is getting paid to go on a vacation where you sit around a nicely conditioned studio to work a few actual hours between recording sessions and have somebody else skinwalk your dance routine (not always true but defintiely true for Gura) before you can go out and have fun afterwards.
