Wrote a document a while ago around the time kson joined vsj+ about some things I noticed, honestly should rewrite it after so much has happened and how much the board is changed but this seems like the appropriate place to bring it up. It's very slapdash and could have used alot more work and research especially regarding the masons and their connections/history with modern conspiracies and /x/ stuff, I've been reading up on stuff like Programmed to Kill but that's more based around a different kind of conspiracy that may be intertwined in ways I haven't figured out yet.

Regardless of your own conclusions, Holo X being named Secret Society and its logo being uncannily similar to the free mason symbol is something I have no clue most people haven't noticed by now and we should definetly look through the lore of both HoloX and perhaps the newer generations of EN and ID in order to see if there's a meaning or message hidden in any symbiology. Mumei in particular gives me some strange vibes.

partially, when I saw /meat/ was false it might be more apt to say that /meat/ itself was being used as a means to an end. It wasn't really apparent until I saw the connection that lots of /meat/ heads were making with magic, explicitly how they talked about using "meme magic". I think /meat/ was being used to take the heat off of other threads, notice that while /meat/ is almost totally wiped from board memory despite the figure head Akira Mazono living a life that makes most of rrats look pedestrian by comparison, she is not even discussed in passing while /become/, /ag/, and /ringo/ have all managed to find their own place and still maintain some presence on the board in sporadic threads? /meat/ might have been set up to fail with the very "meme magic" that they championed and as a ryona thread, doesn't it make a weird amount of sense that they'd be the ones to suffer the most out of all the fetish threads?

I honestly should rewrite it, an anon mentioned some biblical errors I had made that was quite embarrassing and I've always felt that there was a lot more that should have been brought up. Neuro's growth and popularity as well as the growth and popularity of ai in general really is telling to the idea of a "Demon" though Neuro doesn't really feel like she fits the bill precisely. Tomoe Umari and Sena Bonbon are two chuubas that stick to their characters pretty well
Tomoe is a horse girl in the military and talks alot about the military and horses.
Sena Bonbon is a part of that Flavor thing Pippa started and its less that she doesn't break character and more that she's the encapsulation of her character, she's a pastor's daughter with a bit of a southern accent and an interest in diy and conspiracy theories.

Her lore is that she's a cavalry horse for the U.S military and her model has a little cavalry gun. Here's her debut which is essentially her "lore" video although she borderline doesn't really have much lore outside of horse and military, I see her as kayfabe mostly because she repeatedly brings up both as frequently as possible and displays the general behavioral archetypes of a horse girl.

The second one is that you add some type of animal watching to your threads, like the chickens of wvt and the ducks of lig. This will allow chuubas to dogwhistle the relation to your thread if they wish so, as well as giving something else to talk about during extremely slow days .
Most of wvt spinoffs arent even aware of the true purpose of said animal watching links. Some of the most foolish ones even removed it, like mvp did with the roosters, and doomed themselves.

I'm not OP but I like the thread. This board is a mental health fallout zone and it's naturally a little concerning. Myself being a weeb more or less, Id like to offer a place for my fellows (not all are, some are tourists, but I am open to anyone obviously) to hear of the light of Christ if they get really bad/desperate. I also find it fun to see/discuss the little references to Christianity that can be found in all vtubers. I learned more about Nippon's history (since it relates to probability of Christianity) in the thread earlier which was great.

Also I like this thread I think it's also busy for me. Both types basically cover all chuubas and I like learning about them all (scraped the catalog to check various generals and now saw this one).

Vtubing as a whole has a lot of potential for this kind of stuff but I guess indies and corpos are less inclined to due this kind of thing outside of advertisement.
It would be interesting if this thread was a framework for the potential planning of an arg or mystery chuuba concept although its kind of hard to keep the kayfabe aspect, the arg conspiracy, and the schizo aspects in cohesion. They'd probably be better off seperated.

Like Miko was meant to be a beautiful, peaceful, healing shrine maiden character… but she became the ELITE Miko. Personally, I deduct points on how well they keep kayfabe if the character and the streamer are already similar in the first place.
It isn’t a bad thing, and is actually smart to do as a vtuber because it means you’ll have an easier time staying in character and your passions will be in line with your content. But if the character you portray is something divergent from who you are and yet they still stick with it despite without complaint or cracks forming then that is a more impressive feat. Still better for the streamer to find a middle ground though.

In discussion of vtubing it pretty much must be. If you are fleshtubing then you aren’t vtubing. Fleshtubing will inherently associate you as an individual with the character.
However, in contexts outside vtubing then you are obviously correct. Wrestlers had to publicly live as their persona back in the olden days, with Heels potentially risking life and limb for it. I suppose level 0 could be more accurately labeled as “no kayfabe”.

I don't really have a top 10, but I'll give some subtle examples of vtubers attempting to keep up kayfabe that come to mind. You probably have heard of some of these before.
>Mori insisting on referring to her RM work as being "in the underworld" or "teaching scythe swinging to little reapers". Just because everyone knows what she actually means doesn't make it not good kayfabe. In fact, keeping to it despite everyone knowing the reality makes it BETTER kayfabe. "Priestess duties" falls under this as well.
>Ame inventing the time traveler part of her lore to cover up why she knows about 90s Kid stuff without giving away her IRL age or upbringing.
>Zentreya changes her gimmick all the time, but she maintains the kayfabe of the gimmick she's actively in. It was mentioned earlier in this thread, but kson actually does this as well, with her different personae having different monikers, which she refers to by title as if they're a different person when she's not in that persona.
>Moriko Kyoho has shit like "bat gravity" that explains why she can stand on the ceiling, and subtle things she can't do (like open windows or get better internet) because she's in kayfable living in the viewers' basement(s). Even if you don't have one.
There's others, many of who have been mentioned in thread already, but that's all that springs to mind currently for examples.
Kayfabe isn't just about having a story your character uses, it's about letting you blend and build up that layer of fantasy while still keeping a foot in reality. The conceit that /vt/ has about kayfabe is that the character is weaker if they make any references to IRL stuff, when in reality the opposite is true: Adapting Reality to suit the Kayfabe in a believeable way is itself proof of mastery over kayfabe. A story that never breaks or cracks or shows any reality is just acting a full fabrication, or a delusional fantasy. A character that takes situations that would crack a normal fabrication and reinforces them with reality, isntead of being undone by it, that's the real shit.

It's not a character, really, but there was an old WCW storyline about Scott Hall getting drunk off his ass and fucking up matches. Scott Hall had some shit going on with substance/alcohol abuse at around the same time, and had just come out of rehab, so the storyline came off as rude and disingenious. The storyline did not survive impact with reality, and most people hated it, even given the IRL context.

Just like in wrestling, sometimes a gimmick just does not fucking go over. You see this a lot in indies, where the indie will change their model and backstory and the new shit just does not hit with the crowd but they make good bait threads. You're even starting to see it in corpos, too, usually when the talent changes groups or agencies. I think there's a few reinventions that really do well, though. AZKi recently changed gimmicks recently, but the new gimmick with GeoGuessr has really gone over well with the fans, while not alienating her existing Pioneers.

Most people would consider her a fleshtuber with an anime avatar, but what if she’s actually an incredibly shy and submissive girl who’s afraid of speaking up against anyone in real life. However no one will ever be able to recognize her talent and admire her dedication to keyfabe, because they think that the Enna character they see is the real her.
