Some sleazeball shareholder tried to entrap YAGOO while mentioning Anycolor.
https://twitter.com/kazuki_murata/status/1674232922424111105

cover shareholders meeting fifth questioner
・Profitability is poor due to high performer fees and weak product sales, please refer to Anycolor

YAGOO
・I don't know the inner workings of my rival, but I appreciate the performer's hard work. We only sell commemorative goods, but we will develop products that are easy for the general public to buy.

People really overestimate how much influence shareholders have, or how compelling the 'profit' argument even is.
Japan has an Apamanshop case where directors bought shares at 50,000 yen per share - FIVE TIMES the actual value of the share, 10,000 yen, without negotiating it down. Shareholders filed suit and alleged that the directors were liable for their 'bad decisions'. But the directors showed that they had taken this into account and judged intangibles like business relationships, goodwill and smooth functioning to be worth the difference. Since their decisions were well-informed, made in good faith and without conflict of interest, the court ruled in their favor.
Under the business judgement rule, shareholders might be able to go all the way and even conclusively prove that they could have earned more/spent less, but directors can just tell them to fuck off, they don't know how to run the company.

There are many observable factors to a business that an investor can use to project his long term returns. Growth, talent satisfaction, content output, sales, global spread etc etc etc. Comparing the myriad workings of a large agency with "uuh you want make cookie next week but the kitchen burned down" is incredibly retarded.
Investors should do their own research or pay people to do it for them, not throw money at something then show up at the shareholder meeting and start calling for merch bloating and talent profit reductions. This is what we call a fucking retarded investor.

Cover shills will say that means a huge merch cut for hololive talents but that seems optimistic when that information is confidential. Axel and Fauna have both implied that generic merch doesn't get them much and fans should pay attention to what talents self promote. If you read between the lines they are telling people that holoEN and NijiEN aren't that different when it comes to generic merch.

Japanese idol companies generally keep the vast majority of the merch split. The big difference with hololive is the custom merch when talents can put in their own money in return for getting a bigger cut.

Problem is, it's impossible to make a list of every single game that is good to go, so aside from the biggest releases, a talent needs to go through the whole permissions rodeo to see if they can play a game.
And then you need to combine the fact that EN management is garbage and that the JP takes quite a lot of time to verify everything.
For songs, that's even worse, since songs easily moves around in ownership and that can change the copyright license a song has.
