I'm liking the lore tidbits you are dropping here and there. Botan being a follower of the space goddess makes her a girl after my own heart. I too enjoy the blessings of a cosmic beeg girl. I really like the pantheon of religions you sprinkled in, a very nice fantasy touch. As far as other anons are saying regarding the length of the installments, I'm thinking it might have more to do with the fact that a single advancement is named to be two chapters. I can kinda see why you set in your head that the different scenes are actually the turning of a chapter, but we don't really need to resign ourselves to that in our fic formats. Perhaps as a challenge to yourself, you can keep the splitting of chapters in your head, but when you write chapter 9, really let yourself get into the weeds of the details of everything you want to depict. Then, when it's done, see how long it is, and it could end up being close to what you have been writing as two chapters so far, and warrant it's own installment.

What's a good alternative for the word 'Ojisan' in the context of Shion being a streetwalker trying to attract the attention of an older man? That's just what I did with chapter nine. Found a point that could've been another chapter but kept on going though it still didn't break ten pages. If chapter ten isn't more than 12 pages I'll just release it in a trio. This whole segment that's coming would make for a great trio of chapters anyway, just have to see how it pans out.

Damn, dialogue heavy fics take so long to write. There really is no way around it, I just have to buckle up, hunker down and put in the hours. 2 hours to hit only 500 words is no joke.

For me it’s the opposite. Dialogue is probably the easiest part of my stories to write. It’s the narration that has me banging my head against the wall.

With dialogue, you have to think carefully about what the characters will say. You can't use synonyms, you have to do it exactly as the character would say it otherwise it sounds off. Meanwhile for narrating, you can often just turn your brain off and write whatever comes to mind, and it won't matter at all. I haven't had a single brain off moment in all 11k words of this fic, since the narration is also technically dialogue because of the POV it is written in. Of course it isn't as intricate as the dialogue itself, but I still have to tread carefully. At the very least the fic is turning out ok, or I hope it is.

Got through this one first since I love my funny clown fox. While I can see how you feel that way about the beginning, and I admit I was wondering where it going myself until you hit me with the actual reasoning behind it, it demonstrates that feeling quite well. Not a lot of writers can capture what it actually feels to be that way, so nice job! The interactions between such an anon and the people around him was good, I was also really entertained by how you made gen5 bounce off one another like that. It's strange, I like the dialogue and the events happening are pretty cute but there's just something 'lacking' with the narration that makes it feel empty. Like there isn't a solid character or desire behind it to tie everything together; at least in the beginning before other characters get introduced.
I guess this might be an artifact of you going for pure fluff rather than mixing it with comedy or drama, since during the pure (You) and Towa scenes it kind of feels like two people with no chemistry trying to have cute fluffy shenanigans. It gets better with other people since there's actually chemistry for the dialogue to bounce off of or at least enough texture to make the dialogue interesting. Towa and Anon kind of both feel like two smooth innocent surfaces so when the two of them are together the dialogue is kind of basic/uninteresting/mediocre since it's just bouncing off without any good spin.
Like it gets better at the end since you actually introduce some character into Anon's narration to actually make the bouncing of dialogue between them interesting even if it literally was mostly horniness but the beginning 'date' kind of felt a bit empty in how it described everything.

For me, Madoka Magica is one of my largest influences. Not only because it's good but because now I'm absolutely hooked on the godhood ascension narrative. Part Six of JoJo recently awakened that in me, terrible part but I am a sucker for that stuff.

As for the current work I'm doing, it's a mix of Trigun, Claymore, Moribito (both the anime and the the actual book its based from), monster hunter and more. I'm pulling inspiration from a lot of different sources for this and I think that's why I have such a clear vision.

Got through this next. It was incredibly fluffy. I enjoyed how you wrote Towa's pronunciation of things she is unfamiliar with. I have to say I enjoyed the scenes with other parties and personalities involved more than the pure anon/towa scenes. Their interactions almost feel TOO smooth, which isn't a bad thing necessarily, since this screams your desire for pure devil fluff, which it does quite well. I also really enjoyed the little connecting link you put in to the Polka chapter, giving fox hag lovers like myself their good end. Although, now I'm tempted to squeeze a fluffy fennec scene into this arc somehow, which is gonna be overloaded with fluff with other hags, and also sex. Christ where do I begin? I would probably say my greatest influence as a writer and my story belong to an RP group I was part of over 10 years ago. Within it I just gave my character the ability to make pacts with elemental spirits as a way to even the power scales with another member of the group who was getting too edgy and powerful. I ended up playing the roles of my own character plus the other 3 spirits I included, and I loved it. I draw a lot of inspiration involving fantasy magic and cast interaction from a lot of different places, primarily the tales of series, zatch bell, black clover. I also want to point out that easily my greatest influence for coming back to writing and getting the story I want to create out there is (You), the thread. The stories you all write, fantasy, fluff, smut, oneshots, they all helped bring me back to this hobby I love so much. I wouldn't be able to put these ideas into words without you. I hope I can return the favor somehow for some of you.

Murakami, very strongly and shamelessly. At least how it gets translated to English. It's so plain, yet descriptive. Quite surgical, not flowery. It has a certain rhythm which is just fucking satisfying to me. If a character is cooking, he'll really run down the ingredients and the process involved (i think he owned a café or something, he likes to cook at least), and he makes a lot of reference to say, jazz music just because he loves it. But then he can go ultra surreal and a character's narrative might drift into a dream before you even notice wtf is happening. I haven't been around here in some months but these were the things I tried out;

I think you just nailed one of my biggest fears when it came to this chapter. The entire time as I was writing this I was worried that the lack of plot and "purpose" in the story would make it flat, since it's basically just a few half-connected scenes of vanilla Towa fluff. I don't think this will be as much of an issue in the upcoming chapters since I'll be throwing Kanata into the mix and adding a major goal to work towards. bless thy soul. I was about to lose hope! All around a really good chapter - I definitely enjoyed the read. However, I do agree with the others that it feels a bit lacking in parts.
I mean, one of your big talents is writing smart and witty banter, no question about it - Our Cures was just superb in that regard. Considering that, the relationship of Anon and Towa here feels a bit too innocent, sterile and... formal? Making it really corny at times. In my mind, Towa would've hugely profited from being a more confident retard - not admitting to her innocence and getting caught up in the consequences (drinking sea water, having to go to the toilet, even the kiss).
You did pick up on making Towa try to act more 'devilish' later in the chapter, but that could've been a major plot point from the start. This way, she was just really shy, unknowing and apologetic for the longest time, which she doesn't strike me as in her streams at all.
You're also very good at the scene descriptions, but it feels like you get a bit lost in them. I mean, you've written almost 14k words and drawn a very vivid mental image for us, but from what I can tell, the only reason why the two protags like each other is because "Towa sexy" and "Anon nice".
I also have mixed feelings about the cameos. I thought them neat at first, but as it went on, it almost felt a bit too 'on the nose' - a bit too interwoven, especially in Polka's case. I actually read 'A Crash Course on Fennecs and Love' first and I have to say that reading about Polka in 'Deal with the Devil' actually took away from her character in her own story. Which leads me to…

I’m not too much of a fan when it comes to Anon’s borderline nihilistic outlook on life, but kudos to you for actually giving him a bit more depth of character. You can also use that as a base for further character development in later chapters, as he continues to hang out with Polka.
Speaking of which, Polka is cute and likable. The self-doubts and constant apologizing fit her and the setting very well.
However, I will repeat my point from earlier: the information I got from 'Deal with the Devil' left a bit of an aftertaste in my mouth and it colors the whole interaction with biker-anon as one big rebound instead of the steamy, passionate love I thought it to be. I mean, that could be a plot point in itself, but I don’t know if that’s what you really wanted to go for.
Also… Jesus Christ, they jump each others bones fast! I mean, I don’t mind - that’s what I want to happen after all, but that almost came out of left field, really! Would’ve liked a bit more development in that regard, maybe?

In conclusion, I realize that my criticism reads kind of harsh, now that I look back on it. Hey, thanks for the detailed review. I definitely see what you mean by the interactions being sterile, it’s something I noticed as well, but it was harder creating an interesting dynamic like I did in Our Cures compared to this one. In that story they hate each other so witty dialogue isn’t too hard, but in this one they’re both ok with each other and a bit shy, so dialogue ends up being more innocent. I’ll try thinking of ways to spruce up their dynamic.

As for Towa, I plan to have her grow throughout the story. I absolutely agree with you - she’s strong willed and doesn’t have much problem meeting new people. But three years ago I remember she was more shy and lacked confidence (although maybe not to the point that she is in this story), and I plan for her to grow into what she is now by the end.

It definitely could be a rebound for Polka, who knows? I tried to push the idea that she’s getting desperate and has already fallen for a lot of guys in the past. This will be a major plot point in the sequel.
As for the ending, that’s kind of like… my fetish, if it counts as one. No slow build up, no words or verbal consent. Just a mutual understanding of horniness between two people who just met. I experienced something similar in the past and it changed me forever. I won’t spoil anything but I plan to address that as well and slow things down for a better development.

NTA but I think they meant it more in a narrative sense rather than in a specific event sense. I.e there should have been friction/disagreement/misunderstanding to give the initial 'date' some (narrative) conflict rather than for them being like a podcast where everyone agrees with each other.
