You guys talk as if they teach astrophysics in high-school when just finishing high-school is not hard at all if you just aim for a passing grade - a 6.0 will get you through the years into graduations just like a 10.0. Sure, it kinda kills your chances of going into university, but you still got the high-school diploma.
And if you fail a year in Japan they also may just move you with the class to keep the group together and you take remedial classes next year to make up for your failed subjects - actually failing and being held back a year is rare.

And it's that hard to believe there are dumb people out there that graduated high-school? I mean, I've worked with people who you'd have a hard time believing they finished middle school but sure as hell they graduated with the lowest possible grades and joined a trade school afterwards.
