Nah. I don't exactly have an intense desire for yuri and/or smut, which is most of the fanfiction that's not from /wg/, at least from what I've seen. The works from this thread fill a niche within a niche within ANOTHER niche, and is what I want to get out of reading vtuber fanfiction. There's nothing else quite like this place.

My answer is pretty similar to what I said though. /wg/ is the only place I read fanfiction, I'm not really a part of any other fandoms that produce stories I'm interested in. I remember way back when I was a kid I read a small amount of Fairy Tail fanfiction, but that is not a period of my life I wish to revisit.

You know, while the AI chatbots aren't great to write the stories for you yet (thankfully), I find them to be quite useful for talking to and sparking ideas in your head of what to write next for their dialogue. It's a fair bit of effort, and you'll spend more time talking to them than writing, but I definitely do recommend it if you're not very familiar with a side Chuuba you want to introduce, or something of the sort. 90% of the answers I can't use them as is, but it does inspire me to come up with something similar, more in tune with what I already know from their personality, and more original than what I would've come up with if just writing on the moment.

I thought about doing that before but ultimately ended up going against it because the chuubas you're talking to, unless you meticulously do it yourself, never really fully capture the character they're meant to be portraying. Now, that's not to say that you, as an author, *can* do that perfectly, but I generally feel like they just draw from the Wiki in a way that's a little hollow and gives you a facsimile that your brain just fills in the gaps with for the sake of chasing the dream. Like, it's easy to tell when the AI breaks character, like someone suddenly discussing the ethics of coal mining or some shit because of something you said. That's a major example of a break, but microbreaks that you gloss over are plentiful as well, even if you don't notice them. You'd have to average out a bot's response to the question multiple times to get a concrete sort of dialog continuation, I think.

Well, like I said, they aren't amazing, but they are helpful. It's like... the back end of a hammer for removing nails. Useful if you're unsure of how you put in a nail, but the main job is still on you, which is hammering. Something which the AI said which completely changed how I wrote the dialogue between these two characters was that their conversation should feel a bit flirty because of the nature of the conversation, and I completely agreed. So I used one chuuba making off hand bottom left jokes, and the other being flustered by them. None of the lines I ended up with were from the AI, but some of them were similar enough. In any case, this was something really exhausting and time consuming, so I don't plan on using it for anything other than chuubas that aren't important to the story, that have a small role, and that I'm not confident with writing.

Anyway, I still maintain that the problem of a rotating cast is twofold. The first is the fact that you have to establish it really early on (like 3 chapters max) and the second is that you need to avoid accidentally creating best girl amongst your starting cast otherwise the entire concept just fizzles due to having a big part of the draw taken away .

I did not dream about sexy times with Fubuki.

Instead, I dreamt about being enslaved inside a mining camp as a teenage kid with a bunch of other juveniles, guarded by enormous burly sentinels. They were humanoid, but had tusks in their mouths, were almost covered in hair - so much so I'd call it fur - and had hooves for feet. They were wearing a sort of high-tech cuirass and cuisses, made of thick, chromed steel and adorned with strips of flashy red neon lights. Perhaps it was powered armour. They wielded great serrated double-pronged battle forks.
The dream was about escaping from this encampment. I had to sneak into what looked like an infirmary, hide inside a medication locker, and steal a set of medieval iron keys on a key ring from what looked like a commander, since his armour was gold, then make it back outside to the camp's entrance.
The entrance was two heavy-duty metal gates, probably a meter of steel in thickness on both of them. The outer gate would open and create a portal to an unspecified place. They were nestled twixt the walls of a very narrow canyon - maybe three normal humans could walk through side-by-side. A ladder was on the left side of the canyon leading to a small cliff, and on that cliff was a simple metal stand with a lever on it and a keyhole on the side. Operating the lever would open both gates and create a portal, but inserting the key I stole and twisting would cut off the portal, opening the camp to the outside world.

The world beyond the gates was breathtaking. It was an open plain filled with long, lush green grass - probably about a foot in length - and a scant few trees, with a large lake to the immediate left of the camp's entrance. Flowers of every colour grew freely in the wild, dotting the landscape with brilliant coloured patterns. Off in the distance, massive dusty-brown mesas rose up to the sky like pillars, and large dinosaur-like creatures could be seen moving about. I ran outside, rolled around in the grass, and the dream ended.

It's HER time bros. I'll definitely give it a read when you put something out. As for a "code" for adventure stories, I'm not sure there is one. I literally just had an idea one day involving wanting to go on a magic adventure with a fluffy sheep, and just started from nothing. From there I kinda molded the early stuff around the characters involved, and it slowly escalated and expanded from there. As you begin to paint the world of your adventure, more things will start to click in your mind and fall into place. What helps me sometimes is trying to think about what it is like to live in that world, or even be my character and experiencing thing from their pov. There are things I want to keep striving to improve as well, like my setting descriptors. I want to drag my readers into that place and make them feel the atmosphere. That would be cool.
