My reddit studying of the homoposters continues, and isn't to a point I can post all the data yet since it's largely incomplete, but I'll share the emerging patterns in case anyone's curious. I count a homo poster as someone who's made a POST about or mentioning a Holostar, commenters remain unmarked since going through all the comment sections would be exhaustive but I might take a look at doing that after this study is done. I measure every post or comment made by a "homo poster" tagged person, measuring their engagement rather than how many of them there are.
>Homo posters make up an average of 28.4% of posts made
>In contrast, they are only an average of 17.4% of the posters who made it to "hot". This is regardless of WHAT they post, even if they post about one of the girls their posts are less likely to be upvoted
>They comment very little in average posts, only an average of 4.86% of comments made are theirs
>They don't even comment reliably in their own posts, ones made about the homos, sometimes they're not even present at all
>They are more likely to comment in posts made about "the community", notable "clout" JPs, posts involving ecelebs, and bizarrely to a lesser extent the girls who collab with them, in that order
>They make up a noticeably higher amount of the comments made in official posts, an average of 18.6% of comments made in those comments are theirs
>They are however VASTLY more likely to be present in official birthday and anniversary posts, making up a whopping 28.4% of comments made

This largely confirms they don't care about Hololive, as seen in the difference in contents which they post about the girls vs guys as well as which posts they actively engage in. I only have around 150 posts logged right now but if anyone's curious about anything ask and I'll try to answer while I collect more data.

Cards in general have been doing astronomically well since ~2017, and especially when the pandemic bubble came around, so that wouldn't surprise me at all.

What strikes me as curious with something like Weiss Schwarz is that my own experience is moreso in cards that are purely collectibles/merchandise, like sports cards, rather than cards tied to card games. At least in the case of the former, the secondary market has driven prices upwards to an insane degree primarily due to the connections they have with specific athletes (game-worn jersey swatches, on-card autographs, etc.) while what I've seen from TCGs tends to be a hybrid of rarity and demand based on meta usefulness. At least in the case of Hololive's talents being (mostly) real people who actually exist and have personal fans and performances, it feels like the value drivers for their card products would more directly align with sports/entertainment cards than card game cards.
