I think they hardly knew each other, they barely worked together as a group, and you know the first generation was pretty weak in that regard. Think of it as those guys who drop out on the first week of their first semester of college, on the next one you'll barely remember them. Pretty much this. They both mentioned that they didn't know how if it was okay to approach and collaborate with Sora and Roboco and tbat it barely felt like they were in the same company because 2D and 3D were kept separate back then and I remember Matsuri mentioning she hadn't ever talked to Mel or Aki (I forgot) until like 6 months after their debut. I was actually kinda scared listening to this cover because I had it in my autistic mind that it would sound like something I had listened to so long ago while playing a certain game.

I think she wanted to use the opportunity to talk to talk to people that aren't as well known or that she hasn't talked to in a while. I have at least heard or seen of most of them, but I wasn't really familiar with most of them either. She can talk to Holomen whenever she wants, so there's not much of a point to take up a slot when there's a lot of outside interest. When talking to Aki yesterday she mentioned that she wanted to use her position and platform and to benefit others as well, maybe that conversation inspired her to do it this way.

This was a reverse Totsu, she contacted the people, not the other way round. I imagine she was going to use Holomen as backup in case nobody else agreed to come on.
