Both OBS and Vtube Studio work on MacOS. You might have some issues with games since Proton only works on Linux but if you're on Mac I'd assume your content will mostly focus on either drawing or music

This is sort of the thing I have noticed with popular League streamers especially, despite the fact a lot of them are really good players everything you do is met with the most toxic shid and it's just really unfun to even watch. This sort of behavior unfortunately is really gratifying for the brain. And acting out against it will most likely generate even more hate. But it's probably still the best way to go about it. The biggest thing you have to keep in mind is that if you let people start behaving like this every new viewer will also adapt to that and everyone who doesn't enjoy relentlessly bullying the streamer will probably leave because they don't enjoy that dynamic. It's something that can spiral out of control.

Good idea is to bring it to attention by having

1. a stream about it, where you very clearly speak with honest intent about the subject with your feelings on the table.
2. set proper clear rules for what is allowed and what isnt
3. start enforcing the rules

for either of those steps you might want to bring another person to help you check things and mod properly. if you have someone you trust you should definitely enlist their help. especially if you are invested into this emotionally it's easy to have a skewed way of looking at things. that person should also be impartial to a degree and refrain from coddling you. It's not an salvageable situation, but it can be a little bit tricky depending on how good you are to deal with this going forward.

It's too easy to get immersed into the game and not provide anything interesting to the stream. The bread and butter of a vtuber, in my opinion, should be just plain old zatsu, and the game takes away from that. Game less, talk to chat more. Get parasocial, give them somewhere to traumadump, you know? Why talk to a therepist when you can pour your heart out to an anime girl (or boy) on the internet for free. The quality of the execution matters way more than the originality of the design. Not only would being original be difficult with so many designs these days, but there are so many vtubers out there it would be almost impossible to even find out if your design hasn't been done yet. Every single one of my streams has music in it, I have not gotten a single copyright strike or anything like that in 2 years. There's occasional muted passages in the vods, but I sincerely doubt anyone is watching my vods.

You can put the music on a different audio track that isn't recorded in the twitch vod, but I want the music to be there so that isn't an option for me. You should probably avoid music from huge labels though, so if you have hyper normie music taste it might be different. My music comes from ripped vinyls from japanese composers from the 70s I doubt anyone of those guys are gonna strike me with anything. Music is an integral part to my stream's experience, it's to set mood etc., but I have my concerns that you want to put music over videogames. I suppose it depends on what you are playing, with games like Elona I like to put in some bgm because that game basically makes the stream into a zatsu anyways.

Might be extremely shameless of me now, but I have recorded my very first gameplay. This is the first time I did any kind of commentary in the first place as well so excuse the nervousness. There's a lot of errms and uhms but I'm hoping the more often I just do recordings like that, the less this will happen. Still no cam yet since I'm waiting for my model.

But I was mainly wondering what I should be focusing on for now. I realized the sound settings are absolute shit, so I'm gonna try and tune the sensitivity down a little bit. Do you guys have some other idea I could be doing? And what about the voice? Is it grating? Did you understand what I've said mostly? Or should I just try and be a German only streamer instead and give up the English lolge. (I did realize I have swallowed a fair amount of words, so for next time I'm gonna try and get used to talking a bit more slowly for now.)

For the most part the game audio is in the way, but you are also pretty loud so it's not impossible to understand you. For the first couple times streaming, always record yourself with everything running and check audio levels until you can tell where things need to go.

You got a little more germoid in your voice, but it's a pretty clear regardless. You are motivating me to work on my "that" for sure though. You are plenty intelligible. There is noise and reverb, are you in a larger room? Try how it sounds like when you are a little closer to mic and using a noise gate. You are also peaking a little bit I believe, which means you can easily turn down your mic volume a little bit for a smoother listening experience.

The soundstage overall might be a little too rough to listen to long-term, keep in mind people are gonna be hearing your voice for multiple hours.

Yeah I mentioned earlier in one of the threads, that I'm still preparing a room to move in, which is significantly smaller (like a fifth or so of the current room I'm in... It's unironiacally the living room of my house lmao)

The thing with streaming you mentioned is also the reason I kinda started doing smaller gameplay for now, just to try and even out the smaller problems of my content. I will most likely try and do that for like 2-3 months and then see how far I've gotten with settings and maybe even myself in the first place.

reaper plug-ins are the only thing i used when i had a worse mic. Since i upgraded to the sm7b and soundtreated my streaming setup I didn't really need them anymore. Generally improving your raw input is always going to be way better than post-processing an already impure signal.

These are used by a ton of streamers and at least the noise gate helps smoothen things out a little bit with cheaper mics or a sub-optimal setup. Stuff like limiters are useful when you like to scream a lot, doubt you don't seem like the type of guy to do that.

OBS allows you to add audio captures now and as seen at the top you can assign a "track" to them where they are going to be heard. Then you can select any of the tracks to be included or excluded in the twitch VOD (previous post's picrel) and there you go, a proper split of your audio sources. Honestly I haven't tried this myself, so I might be wrong on some things here if you are really interested just check out one of the many vids.

Easiest way to get your first viewers is to make friends with other 0 views. Networking is pretty much the name of the game from 0 view well into 3-4view so you probably want to start right now. This sounds like good advice until you try it and you realize that the conversion rate into twitch from every platform is basically nonexistent. Even the rate at which youtube video watchers become youtube stream watchers is depressingly sad. Stream watchers watch streams, video watchers watch videos, and twitter faggots are faggots on twitter. If you want more stream watchers to watch your streams you have to find ways to get those viewers in to try out your stream. There really isn't any easy shortcut to that.

I agree, but I think collabs are useful mostly in that they are fast way to build up a network with other chuubas. You tend to get very little in return for the actual collab, instead the value you tend to get out of the collab comes from less tangible things like raids, increased name recognition in the vtubing community, and a contacts that can be helpful in hard to predict ways in the future. What does it take for YouTube to start really pushing your content to people? My analytics look amazing and noombers keep going up but it's a very slow rise. I just don't know what the algorithm is looking for, because logically it feels like if a video's doing really well it should get pushed by the algorithm more but that doesn't seem to be how it works. Some of my highest CTR and watch time videos are lagging behind other videos with worse stats
