Why do you assume that I am unable to follow actual musicians as well as virtual ones, and why are you so hung up on the concept that some people who are very good singers like to stream? Even fucking Ado has streamed things like Mario Kart for fun. The ability to just fire up your camera and have thousands of people tune in to listen to you sing, and make a decent amount of money in the process, is a great motivator and way for someone to try and get their big break. There's multiple vtubers who've been picked up by record labels even outside of the Niji > Sony pipeline, and plenty more who're able to self fund their music careers via the money they've made streaming. Yes, not all good singers are good streamers or want to stream, but I the internet is big enough that there are plenty of good singers who both want to stream but don't want to have to give up their privacy by attaching their face to their music. You can even see this with major artists like Yorushika and suis' use of creative lighting and camera angles to avoid her face getting shown during the concert VODs. There's also an aspect of there being more then enough people who're good singers in the world that you have to pick and choose the ones that you're going to follow and get interested in, and getting to see their personality through both non-singing streams as well as the down time between songs during them can make it easier to get invested in someone which gives you a connection to the music they make beyond "this sounds good".

I just checked their debut dates and the first 10 girls and luxiem debuted from May to December about 2-3 months apart with Noctyx debuting February 2 months after luxiem. Ilune was 5 months after noctyx and xsoliel was 5 months after iluna. They just started slowing down overall after noctyx. It probably wasn’t noticeable because hololive wasn’t debuting girls
