>How does this work?
Make a vtuber in the create-a-wrestler feature, put it in AI vs AI matches. Kino.
>Why not use women for female vtubers?
Some do, but because female CAWs have a lot of limitations on match types, movesets, and because female CAWs can't wrestle with male CAWs outside of very limited match types, it's easier to just make everyone a male CAW.
>That sounds gay
You look at HFZ Mel and tell me that's gay.

Lord of the Board Update: /unou/ is confirmed as Entrant #35!
9 hours and 15 minutes remain.

>> No.48172053

Submissions for Lord of the Board are currently OPEN.
You can find the form to submit a draft wrestler to represent your thread of choice HERE: https://forms.gle/SJAAmnHpwBnoUvLEA
Submissions will remain open until April 27th @ Midnight ET.

>I don't know what this is
Lord of the Board is a /vt/-wide wrestling tournament. Threads will submit a wrestler to represent them. The winner will get the belt in the OP and bragging rights until the next Lord of the Board.
>Can I enter [/mythread/] in the tournament?
You do not need 2k22 to enter the tournament. There will be kind anons that will help you build your thread's wrestler as best as we can.
>The rules say my Create-A-Wrestler entrant has to have a "male base". Does that mean I can't submit a female representative?
Just make a Female representative using a male body. 2k22 hates women. We work with what we can.
>Can I represent more than one thread?
If you are capable of making your own CAW in a legal version of 2k22 and uploading it to 2k's creation catalog, you may submit representatives for up to 2 threads of your choice. If you need somebody else's help to make a wrestler, you can only submit a representative for one thread. If you are making a different thread's representative following their instructions, it doesn't count against your two allowed threads.
>Do I need to know wrasslin' autism?
Not really. You can skip any section of the moveset/stat autism that you don't understand.
>My thread rep is in an existing fed (HFZ, DARK, CoC, WDC, CBT, ect). Can I just ask you to port that over?
You cannot. While it is okay to take cues from existing versions, the thread must provide their own unique take on the chuuba if they want to submit a vtuber as their representative. At bare minimum, it must be a new visual design, such as wearing a different outfit than one they've previously appeared in.
>/mythread/ barely exists or is dead. Can I still sign them up?
Fill out the form. Irregular/dead threads will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
>When's the stream going to be?
TBD, likely sometime in May/June, depending on how many entrants we get. You will get a minimum of 2 weeks between submissions closing and the stream, and the announcement will come at least 2 weeks before the stream takes place.
>Will there be commentary?
Possibly, but not likely.
>Is there an organizational dicksword?
Not this time. We're trying to see how much of this can be organized anonymously.

Feel free to link this post to shill the event in your respective threads, or reply to this post with any questions.

Not much time left, so if (you) want /yourthread/ to compete, now would ge a good time to submit the form.

We had a significantly stronger response than initially planned, yes. Part of that was people being very willing to shill the event to other threads sometimes to the point where I was worried jannies were going to come smack us.
I personally have been watching the discussion around the board I'm on most of the board anyway, but I only really shilled the event myself in 2-3 threads, and my entire presence in other threads has just been answering the odd question here and there.

This was part of the reason I've been saying that the time between submissions closing and the time of the actual event would be "at least 2 weeks" instead of just saying "2 weeks". My original plan for this event was that we'd get about 8-10 entrants, mostly /hfz/ regulars bringing in other threads they're on, and everyone just having a fun time watching the kino happen. Maybe we'd pop off and get an insane number of applicants starting in the second one (assuming we decided to run a second one), but I figured the first Lord of the Board was going to be pretty small.
That is clearly not what happened. And there's still 2 hours. More threads could reasonably submit entrants. I know there's at least a couple of them working right now on the form, and I sincerely hope they make it. We could very reasonably hit 50.

Anyway, there's still two hours left, but I want to go ahead and thank everyone that's submitted, helped with thread submissions, filled out poals, shilled the event, and everyone that volunteered to help make CAWs. This may not be the best mudshow on the board, but let's make it the best damn show we can.

48213940

Let's talk about some background stuff.
When announcing and planning Lord of the Board, we had intended to allow weaker threads that do not get to linger on the catalog a chance to participate provided somebody was willing to manage them (read: fill out the form). Early on there was apprehension over certain threads, but ultimately we decided to not allow threads that were not allowed on /vt/.
>So why did you accept /become/'s submission early on?
Ignorance. We were not aware that /become/ was a banned thread, just under the impression it did not have traction to stay alive. We tested this ourselves and found that it got pruned pretty quickly.
>Why was there debate allowed over /meat/, then?
During early deliberation over /become/ and /meat/'s inclusion, it was apparent that a raid by an outside party was attempting to divert the narrative. In order to help identify the source of this raid, we allowed discussion to continue in the short term, then resolved it long-term by promising internal deliberation. After discovering the source of the raid, we have elected to forgive and forget, however our deliberation came to the conclusion that it was better for the health of the event, the thread, and the board to disallow banned threads entirely from the first Lord of the Board event. Because of this, /become/, /meat/, and /oag/'s submissions were not accepted for this event, and we make no promises of their inclusion in future events.
>What about the submissions from /jp/ and /pw/?
We felt it was damaging to the first event to allow board outsiders to participate. The /pw/ submission was a 100% confirmed sockpuppet attempt by a manager for another thread, and the /jp/ submission, while kino, had nothing to do with vtubers and was also highly suspected of being a sockpuppet attempt itself.
>Will /jp/ and /pw/ be considered for future events?
At this time, we do not intend to allow non-/vt/ threads to participate in the Lord of the Board tournament.
>What about /ehe~/?
The verification "question" was set up in such a way to encourage submissions to embrace the silly and fun spirit of the event while simultaneously checking to see how well the writer could follow directions, with the understanding that most threads would just submit local copypastas (which would solve both problems at once). There was some allowance given if we could contact the manager involved, however the /ehe~/ manager's provided contact info did not work and we were summarily ghosted after trying to get in touch with them for a week, and nobody in their thread picked up the slack. To compare, /rrat/ submitted a bad form entirely (even though it was funny), but picked up the slack within about 10 minutes of being told they fucked up.
>Alright, what were the promos we cut REALLY for? Surely they weren't just some keikaku doori bullshit test of character?
It's a secret to everyone.

Due to the ratio of entries, I propose a drafting system to our OP to ensure each group is balanced.

>Hololive has 11 reps, for sake of the draft /hfz/ shall be assigned as the 12th ballot Holo rep due to overlap and connection
>Nijisanji has 3 reps, for sake of the draft /anya-petra/ will be assigned the 4th ballot due to overlap and connection
>Company generals such as /pcg/ and /jidf/ make up 9 of the entries. In this instance, I have assigned /warkop/ as a 10th as it is a centralised hub for Indo chubbas including those in corps.
>Indie has 12 reps, perfectly balanced
>Misc. Generals like /ybc/, /choc/ and /nasfaqg/ make up the remaining 14 entries.

You could even assign the four /niji/ threads to the Corpo pool and impliment a rule to prevent overlap like they do in the Champions League. Really I just to ensure that each group has a healthy balance of large thread draws and smaller niche groups

To be more specific, 5 royal rumbles, the top 5 from each group in survival time moves onto a tourney where they are seeded based on their survival time, and they then play out a tournament.

I think in general, with 50 threads competing, there isn't really any good way to decide on a way to get down to only 2 competitors for the match that decides it all. It will either be too long or too convoluted. Thank God I'm not LoTBOP right now

Yeah I like this idea to decide ties.
Prospective Tourney Format (According to what I think would work, This is my suggestion to LoTBOP as this is very tricky to decide otherwise)
>5 groups picked by the organizers in order to distribute different chuubas more equitably and to try and avoid overrepresentation
> all 5 groups do individual royal rumbles, where the top 5 in ring outs, with ties broken by how fast they were achieved moving on to the tournament stage
>Thread with the highest number of ringouts among all 5 groups (again tie broken by the time taken to achieve said ring outs) obtains a first round bye. (25 teams means 1 thread has to receive a bye no matter what, unless 24 and 25 fight each other for the spot)
>proceed into a standard tournament bracket where threads are seeded by the same criteria as before. (SE or DE, organizer's choice)

Hello there.
Work has started on the CAWs that will need to be made for Lord of the Board. A few of the early entrants were completed before submissions closed, so we have 38 left. I'm still working on autistic breakdowns of the submissions, so if you're curious about stuff like "how many blue women are there", it'll have to wait.
>When will you be getting in touch with managers?
Over the next few weeks, we'll be making CAWs. If there's a hiccup with the process, we'll contact the manager at the contact info listed on the form. If there was no contact info listed, or if the contact info is non-responsive, we'll ask here in /hfz/ about it. We WILL NOT at any point ask in the rep's thread about the rep. We're running an event here, not a board takeover.
>What happens if you don't get any response at all?
We will make a judgement call for ourselves on the best course of action. Your entrant is secured: we're not gonna throw you out, but your wrestler might be less kino than you originally envisioned it.

I'll answer some other questions now as well.
>What's the ETA on the event?
Current estimates put us at Late May/Early June, but we're still early in the CAW process, which is the most time-consuming part. As previously promised, you will have no less than 2 weeks from the date we confirm the event to when it will be held.
>What format will the tournament be presented in?
The event card is 44 planned matches, including 11 Exhibition matches, over the course of 4 days spread over 2 weeks. The full details of the event card will be revealed at a later date, but the tournament's structure is already locked in. Additional matches may occur as time permits on streaming days.
At this time, the intent is to stream in a similar format to /vt/ League: Youtube stream presented through a Cytube. Future details will be presented on that as they become available.
>Will there be commentary?
The event will be presented with minor audio commentary by the streamer, who will explain the match types and narratives between each match. Commentary during matches is still unclear at this time.
>What about tag matches? Will the managers be re-polled for prospective tag teams?
We don't know how many tag matches will be on the card. It's possible that the existing teams will be good. We'll get back ot you on that.
>Will there be gambling?
Of course. In the usual place, even.
>Did you really type a wall of text saying "We aren't done planning and don't have answers for half of your questions"?
Yes.

I will now take any other questions you might have on the Lord of the Board.

Forgiving? Forgetting? Biggest load of BS I ever heard. No one wants your damn forgiveness nor are we afraid to give ya a piece of our mind. We don't care about the elusive managements feelings and what they think is safe and PG for the audience. The ring is a battlefield and not for children.

Your management fucked up and fumbled that /become/ mess, and that gave false hopes to some darn fine folks. Then good anons tried to reason with you but it seems that your yellow-bellied asses already considered that a "raid". Looks to me like /hfz/ bit off a bit too much /meat/, choked, and /become/ an even more dimeless thread than anyone ever thought.

Maybe it is time someone showed you what a true fight is, so if you want to prove us wrong, wake up your fighting spirit from glorious days long past, get out the Jaw and come get your pansy ass kicked in a Steel Cage match on may 14th.

You worldbuilders claim to know so much about battlefields and war, but at the end of the day you want to try and ignore the rules of engagement and bring extra muscle into your corner, right? We know all about how /meat/ is an arm of the worldbuilding general. Even if we had let them in, they would've just been a ghostly sockpuppet of your own thread, an extra spectral entry on the roster for the "mighty Waranon" to fall back on in an emergency. The Berserker under control of the Tactician, if you will.

However, we are benevolent, and understand your frustrations. We offer opportunity to trade bloody ideals in front of a more appropriate audience. May 12th? That's just some random Sunday. Inconsequential. A steel cage match, as the main event for Day 1 of Lord of the Board? We gladly provide that arena to settle differences, and accept your challenge. Of course, should you reconsider, we will graciously accept your concession, but a bunch of meatheads like you couldn't possibly pass up a good fight, now could you?
