I blame this on a few things. One, the normies infesting the vtuber sphere. They just view vtubers the same as every other streamer, and so the them finding the real face and spreading it around is not a form of harassment. Two, the normalization of fleshtubing on vtuber accounts. People see that as an invitation to find real appearances of people because "others are doing it". Three, large chubbas keep trying to funnel their audience to their other personas on or offline. This leads to blurring of lines when it comes to the identities of any given chubba. Finally we have four, mass amounts of graduations. If someone doesn't fall under the umbrella of anything before, the chance of your oshi leaving and going somewhere else leads people to think they need to prepare a lifeboat beforehand and find out everything so they can follow them to the next career.
Of course there are also stalkers that are shitlords and don't deserve the time of day. Those people should be locked up and given psychological treatment. At the end of the day this is an escapist hobby and it should not be treated as real life, the vtuber aspect helps in making this distinction.

Tldr; don't stalk people, don't normalize flesh streaming on main, and gatekeep the normies.
