The objective and true guide to Stable Diffusion Samplers:
Euler a is great for colorful / flowing color, it will make things look nice and smooth, maybe even too much so. It can't converge on sharp details due to being ancestral.
DPM++ 2M Karras is the "standard" default, it works the best generally, and can function at lower steps (~14)
DDIM is the "fuck it bro, make that shit noisy" sampler, it's really scratchy-looking, but this can make something like brickwork look AMAZING with tiny cracks and moss
only use these 3, they can all be used @ 20 steps, 30 if you have autism
SDE samplers are used by masochists and hipsters,

Anyone checked out the new ControlNet 1.1 models yet? In a nutshell the new things are:
- Generally better ControlNet models
- New models, particularly LineArt, LineArt Anime which provide much finer line information than e.g. Canny or HED
- An inpainting model for improved inpainting
- A tiling model that supposedly helps the main model realize that we're only diffusing on one small part of the image and should reduce e.g. floating heads/people in i2i (still in [u]nfinished state)
- A more advanced OpenPose model that also accepts face pose

I think it honestly depends on the approach. If you wanna go full autism on inpainting and dynamic cfg and regional prompts and all that jazz, it takes a lot of both skill and effort, but if you just want a deluge of "style looks fine but it has a bit of artifacts" images then it really doesn't take that much effort.
So really, the space in art that's hit the hardest are those artists that take maybe an hour or two to make a decent doodle that looks nice, which are being outcompeted by machines that make similarly "ok" images but in like 2 minutes.
t. someone who prompts for bulk rather than quality.

AI is better at color than me, for example- so I use it for color composition ideas now. I don't know why exactly, but bbw_hll3 final just doesn't look right to me. I can use bbw150kg or the Gods Among Men versions and get good results with minimal effort, but hll3-final doesn't have the colors and lighting that I get with bbw_hll4b2 and others.

If I enable the Controlnet extension, even if I'm not using it, I can't make images at that resolution anymore.

I have an AMD card, i've installed torch rocm to the venv, it loads the checkpoint, but then errors out because it tries to load the xformers module. I see the --xformers commandline switch, and I've tried adding it to the training script but it doesn't seem to do anything.

I figured it out, I had to uninstall tensorflow, install tensorflow-rocm and lion-pytorch, and add these lines to the script
At the top:
HSA_OVERRIDE_GFX_VERSION=10.3.0

for accelerate:
>remove --xformers
>replace --use_8bit_adam with --use_lion_optimizer

i'm on linux and I have cjk fonts installed, so it just works. On windows you probably have to manually install something with the correct glyphs, and then change the font manually in the command prompt's option menu.
this font should work:

last but not least, you can make UTF-8 support in consoles significantly less fucky by doing the following instead of always doing e.g. chcp 65001 or whatever the longer powershell equivalent is

oh, I lied. I'm technically using "BlexMono NF Text", lol, I think I needed it to use "oh my posh" - the "NF" means "Nerd Font" so it has extra glyphs like that windows logo, the heart, etc. still, it's meant to look like IBM Plex Mono and when I swapped back to it briefly it could still display Japanese
