Check out some corpo vtuber YT channels for decent examples, it's usually an illustration of the vtuber or their model, the logo, and a background relevant to the game itself. For /asp/ examples, I think Runoxi and Beryl both make their own thumbnails if you wanna check them out.

Anybody else keep track of chat messages as their most important metric for improvement? Since I got into vtubing mostly because I was lonely and didnt have any friends so its pretty important to me. Usually I keep track of chat messages per hour, and recently my chat has been posting at the rate of about 45 messages per hour, a big increase from a few months ago. Its a really nice stat, I think it measures the health of your community really well.

I was thinking about this guy a while ago. I kind of like the guy and his personality in a way, but yet I still wouldn't watch him. I mostly watch corpos so not sure about the culture around this. It does feel kind of pointless since hardly anyone will tune in at first and VoDs on twitch will get deleted after a while anyway.

Some of the go-getters with more money, plans, etc usually farm pre-debut with some twitter content, memes, and just hardcore self-shilling and vtweeting (usually combined with a nice looking/ rigged model, character sheet, art, etc) and go all in on a debut and while it is very common I don't think it's the norm for most people just trying to dip their toes in.

It's an option and it's one plenty of people have taken and some have reaped massive benefits from, but it's not a necessity if you don't have a plan ahead of time.

The consensus here though is that you're probably best off using a PNG or just no-caming until you've decided that you actually want to stream regularly, then building up an audience with a more fleshed out profile / PNG and all that as you work up to a more typical "debut"

Tl:dr - Use what you've got, and grow as you go. Build up to a "debut" if you want, but don't delay the actual streaming bit for anything.

YouTube for clips and Vods is absolutely a good idea; YT shorts are abusable and currently one of the best ways to grow. Even better is that you can recycle just about any clip and post it on TikTok or Twitter as well.

Just keep in mind that clickthrough for many social media platforms (particularly Twitter) is abysmal, and will mostly get you a Twitter audience. It's good practise anyways since it's free engagement, and 1% is better than 0% for no more work. I myself need to get going with clips, I've been putting them off for far too long.

No problem I figured I'd take a quick shot at it also as a bit of practice. The font is Bubblegun, I don't know where I got it from. Yeah sometimes logos are like bad scans and really faded, some quick brightness/ contrast adjustments fixes that easily. If you're curious about contrast just look at the image in black and white. There could be more done to improve contrast but again I just threw it together quick. Keep doing those reps!

Even in my original body, my horns were one of my strongest features. They're big enough to be readable from any angle and they're distinct in shape among vtubers because most people's sit vertically on the sides of their head.
