It was a combination of Ame feeling like Gura's sidekick, Gura feeling alienated in her own gen because of her massive growth, and Gura being the kind of person who seems to worry about her public image the more people are paying attention to her. The two of them still do shit in private, which was made pretty clear from that amongus stream forever ago, but they never get too public about it because the shipping makes it less fun for the two of them or it makes them uncomfortable.

Another thing to remember, the "fucking bitch" moment was just the cherry on top of a multi-hour long Rust stream marathon where Ame spent 90 percent of the time alone in her sniper nest doing fuck all, ignoring everyone on the server, with exception to Kiara who tried to get her out of her sniper nest to hang out and she ended up increasingly miserable.
