Leave a well worded comment and/or SC in which you explain why you are dropping her. I think anyone deserves to know that much. Don't go out looking for a replacement. You won't find one. Simply try watching someone you don't know very well yet. If you have very specific requirements, like no male collabs for example, you can make a thread or visit a few generals and ask for recommendations. In the mean time you can watch other vtubers who you liked, if there are any, but they most likely won't become your new oshi. They weren't your first choice for a reason. I'm speaking from experience. Also, keep your merch if you have any. Depending on your feelings for your oshi and the reasons you are dropping her, it might hurt to look at it, but after things have settled down they are still a nice memory of better times.

It helps when she goes into drama or starts shitting on her fans like mine did. Gura is pretty safe so you won't have much luck there.
Try this, a suggestion from an old anon i heard last year: Watch her so much that you will get bored of her, like binge watch a fuck ton of Vods. It might work.

>> No.46457030

>>46456360
Thanks, I'll do my best on that. The indies that I watch definitely aren't a replacement, they are very different. But it's true, trying to force any one of them to become the new "oshi" would probably sour the whole thing. Also, I guess expecting to forget a chubba in order to avoid possible disappointments is not the right move, considering I still enjoy watching her content. Did you happen to "drop" an oshi, and if so, do you still watch her content (present, or past if graduated)?

I just began watching someone else. Made that chuuba part of my daily routine thanks to her actually streaming regularly and engaged in non shitpost ways in her community. Now I can listen Reflect and her Mogu Mogu duo with Okayu and it's just another song on my playlist. It took me almost two months, so be patient. Don't feel like you need to completely cut her out of your life, just give her less of your time. Canceling your membership might be a good first step. Best of luck.

The first thing to do is to cancel your membership and unsubscribe from her channel.

While you are waiting for your membership to expire, you should work on putting some distance between you and her by getting rid of your participation in her channel.

You can delete old comments and chat messages on the Google "my activity" pages:
https://myactivity.google.com/product/youtube_comments?utm_source=my-activity&hl=en
https://myactivity.google.com/page?hl=en&utm_medium=web&utm_source=youtube&page=youtube_live_chat
(If you sent an enormous number of chat messages, you may need to wait a week or two after deleting all of the ones available on that page before it indexes a new batch further back in time for you to delete.)

Your Youtube homepage will continue recommend a large number of her videos. Use the "don't recommend channel" option to get rid of them. It normally takes effect on the next page load.

If you have a Twitter account, you can go through your tweets and likes to remove things related to the oshi you are leaving. Blocking or muting her account, along with her hashtags and fan artists, will help to reduce the amount of content Twitter tries to feed to you.

Good luck!

Unsub; unmember; when their videos show up in your recommended go to the little menu and select "do not recommend channel."
If you actually use your twitter account, unfollow them there. Unfollow people that tweet their fanart and streams. Empty your vtuber reaction folder of her face and memes. Porn too.
>but
Even the porn, anon.
Filter her general if she has one. If you still watch people in her corpo and all they have is a shared general, stop posting there until you can do so without thinking about her.
Cold turkey, anon. Don't "just one more stream is fine..." Cut it all off. No more. Do not. You're stronger than that, just let go. No vods, no clips, no shorts, no watching. Move on and find someone you enjoy watching, or go play video games for a while. Or fuck, read some books; they won't hurt you...usually.
And whatever the fuck you do, do not fucking superchat some money away. Don't streamlab dono it either you pedant. Spend that money on yourself. Ice cream helps.

I dropped Ame during the "improve yourselves" arc, but not solely because of that. I wasn't exactly happy with the way things were going before tempus got even announced. It was just what made me pull the trigger. I don't keep up with her at all. Literally the only stream of hers I have watched since I dropped her was a geoguesser one. I enjoyed it, but not enough to go back to her. When I dropped her I tried falling back on my 2nd favorite (Gura), but I never developed the same feelings for her. I still like her, but I stopped watching her too, and with that all of Hololive. The constant fuckery of management, the increased integration of the homos, and the low quality of big official events prevented me from actually enjoying streams. Gura's constant breaks with pretty much zero communication didn't help either. Instead I found an indie who I began to watch regularly. I still don't have feelings for her as strong as I had for Ame, but I never felt such things before so who knows how long I have to wait until I can feel something like it again.

If you're considering dropping your "oshi" either they were clearly not your oshi to begin with or you made a horrible choice for an oshi. Start with cancelling her membership if you have it. Watch other vtubers instead and see if you get the same or similar spark you got with your "oshi". Don't immediately join their membership but definitely tune into them more often, to the point you look forward to the next stream more than your "oshi"'s. Congratulations, you've dropped your oshi and are free to find another one if you so choose. None of the vtubers I've dropped were actually my oshi tho. LOYALTY TO LUNA

Check hololive schedule for any interesting streams happening atm. Maybe someone plays a game you really like, or a collab happening. If anything up, watch other stream instead of your oshi playing boring ass game solo.
In general look what streams she's doing for the whole week and think about which ones are interesting and which aren't. Watch maybe half of it and the rest don't even bother.
You don't have to drop your oshi altogether at once, just keep in mind no matter who she is, not all of her streams are worth watching, so watch less.
Oh, and the most important thing, stop making time to watch streams. Only watch it when you have nothing else to do. If friends invite you to do something, do it, if you have game to play, do it, you'll check the VOD later.

Maybe just try to not focus on one vtuber and watch others too? Or maybe do something that would distract you from vtuber related stuff.

It's hard to outright drop someone unless you've found multiple better vtubers.
I ended up dropping all of my early favorites eventually, but it was a pretty slow process. This is basically how it went down:
>No vtubers to watch during dead hours
>Find more vtubers to watch
>New vtubers are better than some of the older ones.
>Watch new vtubers instead of older ones when streams overlap
>Eventually drop an older one from the lineup because I stopped watching them altogether -> More dead hours
Rinse and repeat. Now I have dozens of vtubers who are vastly superior to my original oshi and I'm having much more fun watching streams.
