It really has no correlation with whether a vtuber’s a bitch or not. Pretty much every vtuber’s oshi is either Mori or Gura because they’re in Holomyth and Myth is what got them to become EN vtubers. They’re the closest to classical anime girl tropes (the cool one and the cute one). Kiara, Ame, and Ina all are way too niche to be an inspiration to an aspiring vtuber.
Also, Myth being so much bigger in numbers means the chances of collabing with them are next to zero. It would just be fucking weird if you said your oshi was someone who has similar numbers to you and that you could collab with anytime you wanted. Those are either friends or coworkers or both, not oshis.

Viewers and vtubers tend to have different reasons for picking their oshi. Viewers oshi someone they have a connection with. Vtubers tend to oshi the one who inspired them to become a vtuber.
Myth was the first group of EN vtubers who weren’t a joke. Of course a bunch of vtubers would be inspired by that. All Mori represents is the fact that you don’t have to stream in Japanese and you don’t have to have a high-pitched voice to be a vtuber.

First why do people conflate being nice to friends with being a good person always found that weird. Most mori hate comes from her defending people that anti hololive and her originally trying to funnel people to her roomate. I have no proof on the second one since I don’t look into roomates but the first one is mainly vshojo and trash taste. The only reason I see people not understanding the hate towards Mori is because they are newfags, normies or delusional fans. Mori came into Hololive not knowing anything about idol culture. In fact, her roommate had negative views on idol fans and simps - even had some songs she worked on parodying them. Can't speak for others, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt since she was new to idol culture and streaming. But early on, she was ill prepared for streams, antagonized idol fans, grouped people with constructive criticism as 'haters', and ruined relationships between her genmates. Finally, the cherry on top, she tried to 'own' the idol and parasocial fans during her lean incident by complementing the infamous Connor cuckbeat artwork on Reddit where Connor is railing her with cuckbeats crying. Literally got downvoted and had to delete her post. I get filtering your fanbase of 'parasocial simps' and wanting regular fans, but it was toxic to not only her fan community but her genmates' communities as well. This is why I will always hate Mori.
