So a few things.

Riku always intended to go public with Nijisanji.
Yagoo did not want to but was forced to IPO or go through with a private sale which is not ideal.

Nijisanji and Cover Corp are not the same so their valuation will be very different. Nijisanji underwent a huge consolidation before they went public focusing on the vtuber market. Cover Corp on the other hand is trying to spread into other markets.

Nijisanji is more clear about what they are while Cover is sort of all over the place investors don't usually like that.

That all being said I would buy cover betting on the potential of the company breaking off the Vtubing branch into its own company. I'm not very confident betting on a vtuber company with an identity crisis so that would be the only reason I buy Cover.
Nijisanji is the more solid position if you are desperate to own a New Entertainment company...

This all being said there are FAR FAR FAR better companies out there but as long as neither company is sitting on high debt they would be solid.

Just buy VT if you were seriously considering investing.

Cover are running an idol group, so having a sort of VR / videogame environment where you can attend virtual concerts and so on seems like a very natural extension. They're going to call it a metaverse because it's a cool buzzword.
There's platforms like Vark that they already partner with to do things like this, but most of them are honestly kinda crappy, plus they're beholden to some random third party. They've already demonstrated they can do a better job in-house.
