Keeping up as a non-NEET
>Myth comes out
>pumped as shit, pull an all-nighter just to see all the debuts
>religiously keep up with streams for about a month and a half, watch whatever I can live and watch VODs of the rest
>it takes more or less all of my free time
>shit hits the fan at uni
>have to stop watching to actually get shit done
>by the time I'm done I've missed so much I'll realistically never catch up
>give up
>1 year passes
>Council comes out
>rinse and repeat
How the fuck do people actually do it? Sub-1 minute clips are out of the question: they're low-quality and only capture very specific moments, whereas my fondest memories I want to make more of were made during fairly calm, comfy stretches ADHD-ridden zoomers that make and watch clips wouldn't find worthy. In an ideal world, vtubers (or at least corporate ones with money and manpower behind them) would have dedicated editors to splice their VODs into 15-20 minute highlights, exactly how Jerma does it, but in reality, highlights like that are rare and inconsistent.
Is this hobby really only for NEETs?

You can't, the sooner the accept you're going to miss out on a lot of content, the less painful it is. lick ripping off a band
Though there some clipper channels that do long-form 15-30 edits of multiple streams that help

Be a Gura fan unironically. MD.PhDBud here, Gura is my perfect oshi

Problem is, it's difficult to keep up with ANYTHING. Even a 2 hour long stream is a lot to ask for when I'm busy, and these are considered short. Watchalongs are an obvious exception, but they're an extreme minority.

Watch the VODS

You don't. Watch when you have free time with the understanding you'll miss out on a lot. Maybe, listen to VOD's when you're studying or something, multi task.

Anyone that pretends to watch all streams of every holomem or is always catching up with every little joke and story they've told on stream is fucking lying. There is feasibly no way to keep track and watch absolutley everything unless you are a complete neet and even then it would be hard. Just try to catch your oshi's streams when you can and watch a vod here or there if you got the free time and no you want to watch is live. I myself don't really watch clips at all, but if I really don't have time I'll throw a few short ones on.

I don't keep up with all the streams, but I do try to keep up with my oshi's streams.

Just watch highlights from high-quality clip channels (almost an oxymoron, I know).
