Everything is pretty much coping as long as someone is doing better than you right? You can't judge someone's level of satisfaction on your own merits of success. I have satisfied where I'm at currently and it's definitely not what most would consider successful of course. Part of the problem is that there just are fewer female viewers than males. But there is another more interesting problem that intensifies the problem far beyond just that for new vtubers.

I think ultimately it comes down to how women view men and how men view women. And generally how vtubers get viewers is through this gender dynamic. For whatever reason in vtubing men tend to watch women and women tend to watch men (this rule does not seem to apply as much with flesh streamers).

Women in general tend to prefer high status men, they will flock in massive numbers to the biggest stars. They see the big ccv as proof that the chuuba is of high quality. This isn't necessarily a bad strategy for finding good streamers, but there are certainly a lot of highly underrated and overrated male chuubas that don't really get the ccv that they really deserve because of this trait that women viewers seem to have. Not to say that this isnt also somewhat of a problem with female vtubers, but I believe it is less intense of a problem.

On the other hand women often tend to see a male chuuba's low ccv as proof that they are low quality, even though in this case it could just be because they just started streaming or are unlucky or for some other reason. Or more likely they just wont even watch said chuuba for even a second if they have no viewers.

Men care less about status than women, in fact status is a relative turn off because high status women are pretty much unattainable. So having no viewers is actually kind of a buff in a way because a female with no viewers is seen as much more attainable to the average male viewer. There are large groups of males that specifically seek out low viewership female vtubers to watch, and will stop watching them when their viewership raises too much. (in fact one of the best ways to grow early on as a female vtuber is to find and try to appeal to these groups of viewers)

Male vtubers tend to have a very difficult time getting enough momentum to overcome the immense debuff that just being seen with low ccv gives them. In fact early on it is very common for males to have viewerbases entirely made up of men, only for their viewerbases to slowly become more and more female as their numbers get higher.

Female vtubers tend to very easily get viewers up to a certain point where they lose the buff they get for appearing attainable. Then they tend to stagnate based on their own cercumstances. (skill streaming, ability to network, ect) Basically, females tend to have a more difficult time growing as they get bigger, and males have a very difficult time early on but it gets easier to get new viewers as you get bigger and bigger.

That depends. Are you debut debuting or just showing off a new model? If its the latter a silhouette will do. If you're a brand new chuuba, your potential first viewers need a lot more to entice them than "I'm a vtuber" because there's thousands of those.
