Millie is okay with triggers and I like to listen to her every now and then. The difference is that Fauna has a voice that is sweeter than honey and she is also good with triggers. Not all of her asmr content is focused around that though.

I think Fauna's stands out because she has one of the best voices in the ASMR category and her roleplay stories are very cute, even if they kind of all tend to have a similar plot.

Sounds like you need to graduate from vtubers and start listening to audio dramas off DLsite for the actual hardcore JP stuff. Search up "Japanese ASMR" on google and first result will get you what you are searching for, although very heavy into coomer h-audio.

The EN sphere is really lacking in any good vtubers that can do proper ASMR, probably better off looking into the fleshtube space for those who know how to use audio equipment properly. Aside from Fauna (who is arguably mid at best in ASMR, but has a great trained voice), only ENs these days seem to be Shiina, Riifu, Miori, Peony (for yandere RPs only), and Nene (I'm filtered by her voice though).

I think perhaps we just need to accept that good vtuber ASMR is really rare....just gotta go back to the JP classics. Mare, Patra, Ayamy, Mary, Rizuna, Hatomugi, Canan, Macoto? Decent number of Korean choices as well.

Overall conclusion should be that expecting high quality ASMR from corpos probably won't go well unless they are direct reincarnations like Noel, but even Fauna has been falling flat compared to expectations given her PL ASMR experience (mainly since she's just become another variety gamer instead of ASMR specialist).

Only JP vtubers seem to be good at ASMR, especially with audio quality. EN vtubers always sound so harsh and thin because they use the schizo high-pass filter on the mics because they see other normie ewhores doing it. None of them want to learn about audio but the Japanese girls actually do or get their male nerdy friends* to help out. So many ENs buy that expensive mic and wonder why it still sounds like shit. Kronii is really good with audio and could make amazing ASMR, but she'd never do it like Fauna because she's part of that ironic Mori crowd.

I mean, I still enjoy Fauna's current ASMRs for what they are, here yandere RPs are always fun and her voice is great for that particular type of soothing. That's not to say her audio quality and trigger diversity doesn't leave much to be desired and clearly marks her as more of an amateur compared to the legit pros. I'll still give everything she puts out a listen because I like her as a whole, but it's moreso about disappointment of how much potential she has if she put more focus into learning ASMR properly (studying up on unique trigger ideas, learning how to use her KU100 properly, producing more than 1-2 ASMR per month etc). Basically this....my greatest pet peeve is watching amateurs like Nene (Kawaii) spam "$10k Mic KU100" in every video, but knowing nothing about actual audio quality and ASMR triggers. Again, I respect the hustle, but would love to see more effort put into creating an actual high quality production, rather than just selling fast food tier garbage to casual normies who wandered into an ASMR stream for the first time.

I mean...her entire PL was a dedicated ASMR channel and she was trained by the biggest indie menhera ASMRtist Shondo herself. Safe to say she was solely recruited to Holo to be the Noel of her gen, but that quickly fell flat due to her lack of technical skills on triggers and lack of time to do much more scripted scenario stuff (which was her primary focus back then). Her Halloween stories and yandere ASMR are still great, but she's clearly tried to move on from ASMR content and primarily focuses on variety gaming (which is more or less the same move that made Shondo too).

If you argue she never wanted to do GFE (considering how openly she shot down unicorns/goslings in her PL), that's a fair assessment. However, since her entire career until now was built on ASMR, there is understandably an old fanbase that is upset since she is now turning her back on them in order to re-establish herself as a variety streamer like her oshi Northernlion.
