I honestly think it's because graduations are probably so high-effort and costly. If you want to fuck off, the last thing you want to do is put in a lot of effort to do so. If most vtubers could just leave instantly without a fuss I'm sure 30% of currently active Holomems wouldn't be around...and that's just Hololive.
