You lose a ton of expressiveness and emotion for basically no gain; masked characters in tv/movies tend to be used for more action based properties; where everything is moving faster and body acting is far more important. Its the difference between having a cast full of masked characters in something like Super Sentai, to having it in 12 Angry Men
